Class of 2027s who made their mark

<p><em>Get 30% on your annual subscription by using code Frederick30</em></p>   <p>A look at a few class of 2027 kids from Virginia who had monster sophomore seasons. </p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Not ranked or even put on our watchlist a year ago, [player_tooltip player_id='1337962' first='Zayden' last='Burks'] has a chance to be one of the top ranked running backs when the rankings are updated in January. Burks tore thru the Northwestern District on his way to an eye popping 1,642 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. Already a basketball star for the Hawks, Burks has good size at 5'11 and is one of the shiftiest backs I have seen. Look at his cuts below the kid has vision that you do not see on a number of college running backs. </p>   <p>http://www.hudl.com/v/2R0s9n</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1535249' first='Noah' last='Glover'] is next in line for a Battlefield defense that should be a division 1 football player. Already with 2 offers from West Virginia and Virginia Tech, Glover was a first team all region selection this past fall. Glover is so strong from the point of attack and get out in coverage very nicely too. He will for sure not only be ranked but most likely a top 50 prospect when we update everything. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/NoahGlover11112/status/1856484232949813297 </div></figure>     <p>Yes you are reading that right, their is another Austin coming to terrorize your defense waiting in the wings. As a sophomore for West Springfield [player_tooltip player_id='1474206' first='Jevon' last='Austin'] acquitted himself nicely, earning 2nd team all district honors. He looks like his brother Kai with his breakaway speed and ability to create separation. He hauled in three touchdowns in an offense that had plenty of weapons, you can see why he will have a bigger role in 2025. He is 5'10 and 155 lbs., recovering from an injury, you can best bet [player_tooltip player_id='1474206' first='Jevon' last='Austin'] is going to be a name to watch in the Patriot District.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Like what I saw from Sloan's film particularly on offense for the Yellow Jackets. I remember Coach Holland talking about him during our pre-season previews and he looks pretty comfortable in a tight end/h-back role for Osbourn Park. Tough kid too at outside linebacker, Sloan has been a starter the past two years.</p>   <p>With the emergence of [player_tooltip player_id='1298519' first='Derron' last='Danquah'] on the outside, the YellowJackets will need more options with defenses focusing their attention elsewhere. He could carve himself a very nice role offensively in 2025, the kid is a playmaker.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">I profiled Jones back in the pre-season and he delivered with a monster debut for the Oakton Cougars. Nearly willing them on a playoff run, Jones can take over games offensively when they use him. A second team all-district selection Jones is 6'2 and knows how to box out his defenders. Defensively he really shined on the back end for Coach Slay's unit, obtaining 85 tackles with 3 interceptions. </p>   <p>An important off-season awaits for Jones and this talented young Cougars squad, if they continue on this positive trajectory, the playoffs will for sure be in play.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/DeylenJones2027/status/1856045097596661940 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Picking up his first Division 1 offer mid-season from Marshall, Unity Reed's [player_tooltip player_id='1206167' first='IIan' last='Ervin'] lived up to expectations. Playing in a loaded conference, Ervin was second team all district in 2024, which is more impressive when you look at the names ahead of him. This young man has been a bull at guard for the Lions the past two years and he is only going to get better. 6'2 and 270 lbs. with 1 FBS offer, expect him to recruited by many Power 4 schools this off-season.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/IlanErvin/status/1851431936251871610 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Patriot has been known to churn out top rated lineman with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1169761' first='Chris' last='Umana'] fitting that bill nicely. The defensive tackle is so quick and powerful off the snap, he stays in a low base making him very difficult to block. Tremendous power in his upper body, Umana was one of the strongest defensive lineman in the district this past fall.
