CFI Winter Showcase: Top Defensive Linemen

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Charlotte Football Insiders (CFI) Winter Showcase hosted over 150 players – primarily juniors and seniors – on Saturday, December 7th at Rocky River High School. The purpose of the CFI Winter Showcase is to place kids in front of as many college football coaches as possible. Coaches from Johnson C. Smith, Benedict, Allen, Brevard, Carson-Newman, Winston-Salem State, Erskine, &amp; others came to evaluate players in person. His quickness off the ball along with the power he can bring in shedding blocks to slow the running game is impressive. Aiden was a major contributor for a JM Robinson team who had a good season in making the third round of the state playoffs. Ja'Shawn also uses his hands well in conjunction with that burst, showing a couple of good pass-rush moves in 1 on 1's versus offensive linemen. Size simply doesn't grow on trees, so with a strong offseason of work, I think Kenyan can definitely get on some radars going into his senior season. And I really think it's his athletic profile and ability that made him standout well in this setting. When you can move fluidly at 64, it will always impress coaches, and Messiah certainly did that throughout the agility circuit and individual drills. From the start, I liked his focus and determination to impress the college coaches who were in attendance. Jarell is also a realist, knowing that at his size he must play with full intensity on every snap, and that's what he showed. Jarell has a nice quick first step off the snap as a defensive tackle, and he chains that with nice pass-rush moves with his hands to get penetration up the middle. I would say Eli is a power rushing type of player at either defensive end or defensive tackles, as his best pass rush moves are power-based, and then transition into using his hands to disengage against offensive linemen. Eli has offers from Minnesota North, St. Andrews, and McPherson College at this time. I think Eli has the talent to contribute to a college program next season, he has worked hard in the weight room and is in good physical shape. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
