Battle of the Trenches: Stock Up Showcase Defensive Line Maulers

Today I will be discussing all four lineman who balled out at the showcase. He ended up earning the DL MVP at this event. Sieck used his low pad level to get underneath these looming offensive linemen. Sieck has very good speed and acceleration. He has very good hand placement skills, and very good hand strength needed to control and steer the OL away. Paired with his very good strength, and he was creating mismatches against the offensive line. His tenacity and competitive toughness really stood out to me. Kept getting his all on each play/drill. Sieck showed his coachability in the individual drills. The sophomore led all defensive lineman in the L-Drill. His aggressiveness throughout drills really impressed me. He has good athletic ability due to his good acceleration, speed, and change of direction. Ralpho has very good lateral agility. Mirrors the footwork of the offensive lineman. He's powerful at the point of attack. Lowing himself into a low pad level to gain leverage. He has good hand placement, and good hand strength needed. Great job from the sophomore! He was 2^nd in the 40-yard dash, shuttle, and broad jump amongst defensive lineman. AJ has very good athletic ability due to his very good acceleration, good speed, and lateral agility. His quick feet really stood out to me. His lateral movements were stellar during the drills. Chwialkowski has a quick twitch to him. He has good hand placement and hand strength needed to engage the offensive line. If he got beat on one play, he'd come back to win the next rep. Very good competitive toughness. Good strength too. Whether in speed drills, or 1 on 1s, he was laser focused. When I was watching him do the 40-yard dash, I was very impressed with his initial burst of acceleration. This comes in handy especially against stout offensive lineman. Malaniak has a big body, and very good strength. He had the longest wing span between all the defensive lineman. During the drills, he was initiating contact first. He used his low pad level to out leverage the offensive lineman. Very good hand placement and hand strength. Showed his ability to lock out the OL and win the battle.
