Mehan showed out on both sides of the ball. The 5'11 165-pound junior had 9 carries for 49 yards, 4 receptions for 75 yards, 1 touchdown, 6 total tackles (4 solo, 2 assisted), 1 pass deflection. Mehan used his very good athletic ability to ball out of both sides of the ball. As a running back, he has good vision and uses his burst of acceleration to make defender miss. He'll continue to fall forward for the extra yards. He exceled as pass catcher. He used his very good acceleration to create separation between defenders. He has very good catching. Mehan had a possession catch on 4th and 5, extending the drive. As a linebacker, he used gap knowledge to stuff the run. He has good tackling skills, wrapping up the ball carrier and pulling them down. Great job by the junior.

The 6'2 190-pound senior was instrumental in the comeback against Montrose. Jackson has very good throw power, and was making the big throws all night. Jackson has very good accuracy at all 3 levels. Very good ball placement skills. Would throw it in stride of the wide out, so they didn't lose speed. He made a beautiful pass on the outside to Mikail Benner for the touchdown. The thing that impressed me the most was his decision making and staying calm under pressure. If no one was open, he would use his very good athletic ability to run for the first down. He would keep his eyes downfield, consistently looking for the open man. One play, he scrambled around and found standout [player_tooltip player_id='251319' first='CT' last='Worley'] for the catch. Jackson balled out on the ground too. He had a QB draw touchdown. Another place, he used his very good balance stopping himself from stumbling, redirecting himself for the first down. Colleges NEED to look over at his tape, as I believe he will be a solid contributor at the next level.

Another driving force behind Montrose was [player_tooltip player_id='1614369' first='Elijah' last='Womack']. The 6'0 185-pound junior rushed 27 times for 121 yards and the touchdown. On the defensive side, he had 7 total tackles (2 solo, 5 assisted), 1 TFL, and 1 forced fumble. Womack has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, and change of direction. He used his very good vision to identify which holes to run through, and if one got covered up, he used dynamic jump cuts to move into the other hole. Womack has a nasty spin move. He also has very good strength. He uses his powerful legs to drive forward, carrying multiple defenders with him. As a defender, Womack used his good mental processing to identify which gaps to rush leading to the TFL. He's a very good run stopper, and was consistently making plays for his defense. Another notch in Womack's stellar season.

Grijalva was a driving force behind the Red Hawks' offense. The 5'9 160-pound senior had 15 carries for 85 yards and 2 touchdowns. Grijalva has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, acceleration, and change of direction. He used very good vision to wiggle his way through the defense on his rushes. For example, on a jet sweep touch down, he glided through the defense into the endzone. He was even 1 yard way from an octopus. Every time Grijalva got the ball, he was gaining yards for his offense. Grijalva used his home run speed to run through defenses and made Broomfield take an extra look how to defend him.

Elliot's two-way ability was on full display during the championship game. The 6'2 200-pound receiver wracked up 2 touchdowns and had a sack force fumble. Less has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, acceleration, jumping, and good change of direction. He has very good separation quickness due to his ability to out run the defensive player or sit in the zone waiting for the easy completion. Less has very good catching and good ball tracking skills. He was consistently plucking the ball out of the air. He brings the same tenacity to the defensive side. He used good block shedding to break the offensive line's tackle, leading to the sack force fumbled. Less has very good competitive toughness and continued to play through the whistle, and help his teammates finish tackles. Great performance by the senior.

Benner balled out on both sides of the ball. The standout DB-ATH measuring in at 6'0 185-pounds showcased his elite athletic ability on both sides of the ball. When he wasn't scoring touchdowns on offense, he was making big plays on defense with fumble recoveries, and a pick 6. Benner has good release, and was beating the defenders consistently at the line of scrimmage. Very good separation quickness. He used elite athletic ability to create separation between himself and the DB or LB. Very good route running skills. He ran a beautiful out route on the catch for a touchdown. He has very good catching and ball tracking skills. He plucks the ball out of the air and makes it look seamless. Including on the pick 6. Very good catch in traffic. Benner is an elite prospect that has committed to the Air Force Academy. They are getting a rare talent, and I'm excited to see how he does for the academy.
