Mehan was consistently catching my eye throughout the event. Whether it was his catching, or fluid route running, he was making a name for himself at the camp. He has very good athletic ability due to very good jumping, acceleration, good change of direction, and speed. Good release at the line of scrimmage. Very good separation quickness. Showed his physicality against the DB to get open. Very good catching, using his hands to pluck the ball out of the air, and held onto the ball while getting contacted. After the catch, he showed his good juke moves. Using dynamic cuts to make DBs miss. This Montrose WR didn’t disappoint!
Mehan showed off his versatility and football IQ across multiple phases of the camp. As a receiver, he was smooth in drills and consistently caught the ball cleanly, flashing particularly strong performances over the middle in both one on ones and 7 on 7s. Mehan also stepped in at defensive back, holding his own in coverage and staying stride for stride with opposing receivers. That two-way ability and willingness to compete make him a high upside prospect worth following closely.
Mehan’s versatility made him invaluable to Montrose. On the ground, he compiled 861 yards on 106 carries with an 8.1-yard average and punched in 12 touchdowns. His aerial contributions added another layer to his game, hauling nine receptions for 192 yards and three touchdowns. Mehan’s dual-threat capability makes him one of the most dynamic backs in 4A football.
Mehan is a player that was able to standout on both sides of the ball. He had a dominant season at RB rushing for over 800 yards and adding 16 touchdowns. He was able to add another touchdown on the defensive side, going up and high pointing the ball and then showing off his running back skills, setting up his blocks and lowering his shoulder to get into the endzone. He shows good anticipation and can read through the receiver to the QB, making a break on the ball and coming down with an interception. He is a player that is all over the field and should be a player to know on both sides of the ball as he can dominate on either.
