2024 Prep Redzone All-State Team- RB Selections

<p>We had an amazing season here in Alabama this fall, and with signing day and the recruiting season coming to a close, we wanted to introduce our 2025 Prep Redzone All-State Team! </p>   <p>Today, we are taking a look at some of the talented running backs across the state, these guys are coming off some dominant seasons and are worth the watch!</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><em>7A</em></span></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='882918' first='Omar' last='Mabson'] has quickly become one of the top running backs in the state, what he accomplished for Auburn this fall was extremely impressive and exactly why he has landed as our 7A All-State selection. Mabson is extremely well-rounded- he has some elite speed, quickness, and make-you-miss abilities that allow him to consistently leave defenders in the dust. In addition to his speed and elusiveness, Mabson also has a great ability to absorb hits- he's a powerful runner that doesn't go down after first contact and makes it really tough for defenders to bring him down. Mabson was unstoppable out of Auburn's backfield this fall, he ended his junior season with 184 carries for 1515 yards and 29 touchdowns, with an additional 10 receptions for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns in the air as well. Be sure to watch out for Mabson next fall, he's an elite-level talent who has completely transformed Auburn's offense and is set up for a huge senior year!</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><em>6A</em></span></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1506557' first='Arthur' last='McQueen'] is a senior running back out of Stanhope Elmore who dominated the 6A this season. McQueen is a quick and physical running back that can run in between and outside the tackles with a ton of efficiency. McQueen has a ton of speed, makes explosive cuts, and has the physicality to lower his shoulder and run through defenders. It's really hard for defenses to slow McQueen down, he consistently finds ways to break into the open field, and when he gets there, he's gone. McQueen had one of the best seasons of his career this fall, ending his senior year with 222 carries for 1951 yards and 23 touchdowns on the ground. It's been a blast covering McQueen this season, he's a talented back with a ton of different skills- be sure to watch his film!</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><em>5A</em></span></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1006484' first='Cameron' last='Phinizee'] has been one of the backs in the state these last two seasons, he's helped Russellville become one of the top teams in the 5A and shows no signs of slowing down heading into next year. Phinizee was dominant this season. He plays with a rare combination of size, speed, vision, and elusiveness that have made him unstoppable out of Russellville's backfield. Phinizee is extremely hard to stop with the ball in his hands- he can run over nearly anyone in the open field, has a great stiff arm, and consistently requires multiple tacklers to bring him down. Phinizee has played like one of the best backs in the state the last few seasons, and this year was no different. Throughout his junior season this fall, Phinizee recorded 231 carries for 2331 yards and 28 touchdowns on the ground for Russellville, consistently dominating every defense they faced against. Phinizee has been unbelievable these last two seasons, be sure to tune into his huge senior year next fall, he's sure to make some huge plays!</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><em>4A</em></span></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1517082' first='Jayden' last='Griffin'] has dominated the 4A throughout his whole high school career, and this season was no different. As a ball carrier Griffin thrives off his quickness, vision, and athleticism. Griffin plays with a lot of patience behind the line of scrimmage and consistently waits for the perfect moment to strike- he does a great job seeing the field and following blocks to gain the most possible yardage each carry. On top of that, Griffin is highly athletic and has the skills to exploit defenses- he can outrun anyone, has some serious elusiveness, and can fight through contact for some big plays. Griffin was near unstoppable this season for Dora's rushing attack, he ended the year recording 225 carries for 2422 yards and 33 touchdowns against some tough defenses all around the state. Griffin has been one of the top rushers in the state throughout his career, be sure to watch his film, he's got a ton of talent to offer!</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><em>3A</em></span></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1585806' first='Diego' last='Bryant'] is a talented prospect out of Thomasville that had a massive season on the ground this year. Bryant dominated 3A defenses all across the state in a season where he helped lead Thomasville to an 11-1 record. Bryant is a physical runner capable of breaking off huge runs- he has great vision, makes sharp cuts, and has great speed and acceleration that he uses to outrun entire defenses. Bryant really impressed me with how well he can take contact- he has great balance, can power through defenders, and does a great job protecting the football. Bryant pieced together a terrific senior season this fall, ending the year with 151 carries for 1876 yards and 30 touchdowns. It's been super fun watching Bryant play as well as he has for Thomasville, he's coming off a huge year and has some great film to show off. Be sure to give him a watch! </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><em>2A</em></span></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1585508' first='Brendan' last='Hall'] is a talented running back out of Geneva County who had a huge year this fall in their rushing attack. Hall is a dynamic player capable of making huge plays on the ground- he has great speed, elusiveness, and change-of-direction skills that allow him to consistently break off massive gains and scoring plays. Hall is also a tough back to bring down, he plays with a ton of toughness and physicality, doesn't go down after first contact, and can completely wear down opposing defenders. Hall had the best year of his career this fall, recording 199 carries for 2278 yards and 31 touchdowns on the season. Hall put some impressive film together throughout the season, be sure to take a minute and give him a watch! He's a talented player who's been a huge part of Geneva County's success for the last few years. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><em>1A</em></span></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">It should be no surprise who our choice was for the 1A- [player_tooltip player_id='228973' first='Alvin' last='Henderson'] had another season for the ages this fall where he ended up breaking the all-time Alabama rushing record. Henderson is explosive in every sense of the word- he has an unreal burst of speed that takes him from 0-100 within an instant. Once Henderson gets into the open field, it's impossible for defenses to stop him- he plays with so much speed, quickness, and elusiveness that allow him to carve up and exploit every defense he faces. Year after year, Henderson has put up video game numbers for Elba's offense, but nothing has come close to what he achieved this fall. Henderson had yet another ridiculous season this year, recording 276 carries for 3620 yards AND 61 touchdowns on the year. It's been awesome getting to cover a player as special as Henderson, be sure to watch him at Auburn next fall, he's undoubtedly going to be an instant playmaker once he gets on campus.</p>    <p></p>
