Today, we are taking a look at some of the talented offensive linemen across the state, these guys are coming off some dominant seasons and are worth the watch!

[player_tooltip player_id='883398' first='Mal' last='Waldrep'] has been one of the most dominant offensive linemen in the state these last few seasons, and it's been easy to see. Throughout his time at Central, he consistently provided great work up front for his teammates and only got better each season. Waldrep thrives as an offensive tackle- his power, footwork, hand usage, and agility show up in every aspect of his game. When in pass protection, Waldrep is an anchor that doesn't allow for any penetration/pressure on the quarterback- he can easily stonewall every pass rusher lined up against him with his size and athleticism and does much of the same in the run game as well. When running the ball, Waldrep excels at getting off the ball, opening wide lanes, and working from level to level to assist the ball carrier. It's been great watching Waldrep's film these last few years, he just signed on at Alabama a few weeks back and will end up being a massive addition to their 2025 class. Be on the lookout for him, it won't be hard!

[player_tooltip player_id='992441' first='Spencer' last='Dowland'] is a talented offensive tackle out of Athens who has continually improved every season he's played- this fall he was extremely reliable against a variety of tough defensive linemen across the 6A. Dowland has a high football IQ that shines through in his play- he's very quick to adapt to different defensive linemen he's playing against and can erase their presence from games. Dowland is a really skilled blocker in both the run game and pass protection- he creates huge running lanes and protects the quarterback's blindside at a high level. Dowland is an effective lineman in every sense of the word- he doesn't allow any for any penetration, consistently provides a clean pocket, and can pave the way in the run game for massive gains. Be sure to watch out for Dowland in the future, he's headed off to play at Mississippi State and will likely find the field sooner rather than later!

[player_tooltip player_id='883399' first='Carde' last='Smith'] has been a nationally recognized OL prospect for a while now, and it makes sense- he's helped Williamson have one of the most physical offenses in the state with how good their offensive line is. Standing at 6'6 300, Smith has a massive physical presence on the field- at his size, moving him is a massive chore that requires multiple defenders. Smith has the strength and power to pair with his size that makes it near impossible to get through him- he routinely puts defenders in the dirt and paves the way for his offense to make big plays. Smith also has a great deal of flexibility at his size that allows him to get low and gain a ton of leverage against faster EDGE and DEs- allowing him to consistently keep a wide variety of defensive linemen away from his quarterback. It's been great watching Smith these last few years, he's got a ton to offer at the next level. Just recently Smith signed on at Colorado a few weeks back- watch out for him at the next level, he's got some serious potential!

[player_tooltip player_id='1301245' first='Cade' last='Channell'] has had our eyes for a little while now, and for great reason- he's a talented OL prospect out of the 4A who has helped Dora lead one of the more dominant run games in the entire state. Channell uses his 6'5 280 frame to flatten defenders and pave some wide-open running lanes at the line of scrimmage and beyond. It's really impressive watching Channell open things up at the line of scrimmage while also having the ability to make key blocks in the second and third levels downfield. In pass protection, Channell has a similar impact- he does a great job anchoring himself, plays with great leverage, and has a ton of power/strength to keep defenders back. Channell has been a huge piece of Dora's offense the last few years- watch out for him at Arkansas State in the future, he has the talent to find the field early!

[player_tooltip player_id='205923' first='Kavaughn' last='Evans'] was one of the first 2025 prospects we laid eyes on a few years back, and man has he grown as a prospect. Evans has been dominating defensive linemen in the 3A for several seasons now over at Hale County and is coming off a productive senior season where he pieced together a bunch of good tape. As a run blocker, Evans uses every bit of his 6'3 300 size to make a huge impact- he easily dominates the line of scrimmage, can move to the second level to take on defenders, and has the strength and power to completely level out and pancake defensive linemen. It's been really impressive keeping up with Evans' progression as a player, he's come a long way and is coming off a season where he played his best ball yet. Coaches- be sure to watch some of Evans' tape- he is a talented OL prospect with plenty to offer teams at the next level and he deserves more eyes!

[player_tooltip player_id='1586146' first='Bryant' last='Owens'] is a talented offensive lineman out of Falkville who has been a massive asset to his team's offense over the last few years. Owens is a versatile player who has spent time at OT, OG, C, and even on the defensive side as a DT as well. It is tough to place where Owens has played best on the offensive line, but man he is a valuable player- he plays with a ton of toughness and physicality that makes it hard for any defensive lineman to win against him. It's really impressive watching Owens as a run blocker, he gets off the ball fast, gets a great push, and routinely drives defenders back 10-15 yards downfield. Owens can protect the passer at a high level as well, he does a great job not allowing the pocket to collapse on his side of the line. Owens had a heck of a senior season this fall and really impressed us with his play. Coaches- do yourself a favor and watch some of Owens' tape, it'll be hard not to enjoy what you see!

[player_tooltip player_id='1218260' first='Terry' last='Hilliard'] is a really talented underclassman out of Brantley who has become one of the top 1A OL prospects in a short amount of time. As a sophomore, Hilliard has spent time at LT and RT and has made a massive impact when out on the field. Hilliard is an excellent run blocker with top-end athleticism that allows him to move around the field with ease- it's super impressive watching him pull across the line of scrimmage or move in open space to make blocks. He has the strength and leverage to completely lift defenders off their feet and into the dirt, it's really impressive seeing how far and easily he can drive people back. We are going to have to keep track of Hilliard next fall, he's coming off a dominant sophomore season that has set him up for an even better year next season. Be sure to tune in!
