2025 Final Rankings Update New RB Additions (Pt. 1)

The 2024 WV high school football season has completed and now it's time to officially put a cap on the talented 2025 class with our final rankings update. One of the leading rushers in the state this season who may have flown under the radar at an under-profile school was Elkins RB [player_tooltip player_id='1229728' first='Nick' last='Bowers']. Bowers rushed for 2,300 yards and 26 touchdowns this season on an astonishing 328 carries. He's not a fancy runner by any means, but he is your classic cut-and-go running back who carried the Tigers' offense on his back this year. Bowers has a solid combination of speed and power with the frame to continue filling out. He showed tremendous durability this season with a ton of touches without missing much time. Bowers can play at the D2 level if he wants to continue playing in college.      A new name on our radar this season that impressed on limited film was 2025 Point Pleasant RB [player_tooltip player_id='1586446' first='Isaac' last='Creel']. Creel has an athletic build with great size for the position that gives him a much higher ceiling than his ranking shows if he had more film to evaluate. In what's available, Creel showed versatility in being a running back who can run through arm tackles with the speed to get loose in the open field. A full-season highlight tape would've likely placed him inside the Top 100 but is a name for D2 programs to look into further.      Another 2025 running back that we got film of for the first time and placed inside of the Top 175 is St. Albans' [player_tooltip player_id='1586872' first='Deshaun' last='Stotts']. He was a good two-way player for the Red Dragons this season while also being very productive at linebacker. Stotts' build suggests running back is his likely position at the next level though where he rushed for 445 yards and 5 touchdowns. He has quality burst out of the backfield and can create chunk plays when he gets a crease. Stotts can pound it between the tackles or cut it outside with the speed to get loose at times. He posted an offer from WV State earlier this month and is a prospect that D2 and D3 programs should be looking at.      The Cameron Dragons leaned on the back of 2025 RB [player_tooltip player_id='907172' first='Klypsan' last='Wallace'] on the way to their first State Championship appearance in school history. Wallace has been extremely productive since his freshman and sophomore years at John Marshall before rushing for nearly 4,000 yards the past two seasons at Cameron. He posted 1,900 yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior alone proving to be very tough to defend at the small school level. Wallace is a highly physical runner who doesn't often go down on first contact and consistently churns out tough extra yards. He's a very balanced runner and a strong athlete that's improved his athleticism over the years. Wallace is also a good wrestler who could choose that sport in college if he has those aspirations but would be a good D3 prospect for football too.      We didn't see 2025 Spring Mills RB [player_tooltip player_id='907162' first='Kamren' last='Taylor'] as a junior but saw him get some shared reps as a senior for the Cardinals after showing promise during his sophomore year. He was a good second option for the state championship qualifier Cardinals this season and would've started at most other schools in the state. Taylor is your classic scatback with great burst and explosiveness that you can utilize more than traditional handoffs. He's very quick with homerun speed and can accelerate up to top speed quickly. While he's a bit undersized, Taylor has some real juice and could end up being a steal at the next level while flying under the radar.      Ripley's [player_tooltip player_id='1014121' first='Noah' last='Casto'] has been a steady and reliable player for the Vikings for multiple years now and finished his high school career with a strong senior season. Casto eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark this season and scored 23 touchdowns on the ground while leading his team to the playoffs. He's another running back who isn't going to do anything fancy and is a one-cut-and-go runner. Even as a smaller running back, Casto is a tough inside runner who can also get outside and create explosive runs. He'd be a great value add for a D3 program with potential to play off the edge on defense as well.
