This is the first season that Class 2A has been split into two divisions but history is repeating itself with this match-up. This will be the third consecutive season that the Warriors and Falcons square off for the gold ball and Washington has walked away with that crown in each of the last two years. Washington comes into Friday's championship game with a 43-game winning streak while Millwood gets their third crack at knocking off the Warriors after surviving double overtime in the semifinals. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma on Wednesday, when we take a deep dive into the match-up by putting the spotlight on all of the players to watch for both teams.

#1 WASHINGTON WARRIORS (13-0)

Aug. 29th - Beat Community Christian 46-3
Sept. 6th - Beat Sulphur 27-24 (2OT)
Sept. 13th - Beat Purcell 48-14
Sept. 27th - Beat Dickson 54-0
Oct. 4th - Beat Marietta 64-7
Oct. 10th - Beat Little Axe 49-7
Oct. 17th - Beat Marlow 35-28 (OT)
Oct. 25th - Beat Lexington 54-0
Nov. 1st - Beat Crossings Christian 42-21
Nov. 7th - Beat Lindsay 35-0
1st Round - Beat Perry 42-0
Quarterfinals - Beat Kiefer 48-14
Semifinals - Beat Metro Christian 46-7

HOW THEY GOT HERE

The Warriors came into this season with a 30-game winning streak after winning the last two state championships in Class 2A. They haven't lost a game in nearly three calendar years. Needless to say, the target was as big as it's ever been coming into this year. The Warriors were tested more in the regular season than we've seen during the last two championship seasons. It started in week one when they went to double overtime with Sulphur. From there, they absolutely dominated the schedule until a week seven showdown with Marlow. That game would go into overtime but once again, the Warriors would survive and move on. In the playoffs, Washington has taken their game up a notch and you can tell that this is a team that is making their fifth consecutive appearance in the state championship game. They know how to win and win big in November and December. Now, they look to take down the Falcons again in the state championship game and inch closer to the state record for longest 11-man winning streak.

CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
3-4 Record – 8th Title Appearance

The Washington Warriors are making Edmond a regular stop in December as this will be their fifth consecutive season to make the state championship game. The last four appearances were in the 64-team Class 2A and this will be their first go-around in the new Class 2A-1. Washington will also be searching for their third consecutive gold ball and what would be their fourth state championship in school history, which would bring their championship game record to 4-4. Washington and Millwood has turned into quite the championship game rivalry. This will be their third straight meeting in the title game but it's also their fourth time facing off in the title game in the last eight years. Washington had to settle for silver back in 2017 but they've won the last two.

OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION – 45.4 Points Per Game

Washington is once again one of the top offensive units in the state but coming into this season, we weren't sure that would be the case. They lost a lot of experience on the offensive line and a three-year starter at quarterback. They're starting a freshman at QB and have been just fine this season. They are averaging just over 45 points per game, which is one point shy of what they averaged coming into the title game last year. There has been no drop off, the Warriors are just fine. And they look like they have been playing lights out in the last month.

DEFENSIVE PRODUCTION – 9.6 Points Per Game

While the offense had some question marks, there weren't nearly as many surrounding the Washington defense and they've lived up to the hype. The Warriors are giving up just under ten points per game but they've given up just 21 points total in their last four games. That's three playoff games and a week ten head to head clash for the district championship. Washington's defense has four shutouts this season and have been playing lights out in some of the biggest games. They'll look to do it again in the title game against Millwood on Friday.

STAR POWER

Washington senior and Ohio State commit [player_tooltip player_id='353411' first='Nate' last='Roberts'] has been the top overall prospect in our 2025 rankings for a while now. He has had a tremendous high school career and looks to finish it out with a third consecutive state championship. Roberts made a big play on a touchdown reception as a sophomore in their 2022 title victory. He also made a statement early in their 2023 championship win with a lengthy catch and run for a score. So we're looking forward to seeing what kind of performance Roberts has on Friday afternoon. The Washington standout is a match-up nightmare and looks to finish his career with another ring.

#2 MILLWOOD FACLONS (12-1)

Aug. 31st - Beat Pine Bluff, AR. 14-0
Sept. 14th - Beat Douglass 63-0
Sept. 20th - Lost To Heritage Hall 28-25
Sept. 27th - Beat Blackwell 64-6
Oct. 4th - Beat Jones 46-13
Oct. 11th - Beat Oklahoma Christian School 41-7
Oct. 17th - Beat Mount Saint Mary 42-6
Oct. 25th - Beat Chisholm 20-12
Nov. 1st - Beat Crooked Oak 15-0 (Forfeit)
Nov. 8th - Beat Perry 6-0
1st Round - Beat Crossings Christian 46-27
Quarterfinals - Beat Chandler 22-7
Semifinals - Beat Marlow 36-34 (2OT)

HOW THEY GOT HERE

For the Millwood Falcons, they continue to have unfinished business and they will look to finish the job on Friday afternoon. The Falcons came into this season with the majority of their starters back and hungry to make it back to the state championship game. The season started down in Texas, as the Falcons took on a team from Arkansas in a showcase event. They took care of business there before falling to OKC rival Heritage Hall 28-25 in the non-district finale. The Falcons entered arguably the toughest district in the state and passed every test with flying colors. They made a loud statement when they beat top five Jones 46-13 in week five and rolled to a district championship. Millwood's dominant play would continue in the first two rounds. They won their first two playoff games before they would square off with Marlow in the semifinals. The Falcons would have to rally in the fourth quarter to force overtime and eventually, they walked away with a 36-34 victory in double overtime. Now, they get their chance to finish what they started several years ago.

CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
7-5 Record – 13th Title Appearance

The Millwood Falcons are headed back to the state championship game for the third consecutive season and the 13th time in school history. They're hoping that 13 will be a lucky number for them on Friday afternoon. Millwood is 7-5 all time in state championship games but the last two against Washington have not worked out for them. They won back to back state championships in 2016 and 2017 and have been searching for that gold ball ever since then. And we definitely have to tip our cap to Millwood head coach Darwin Franklin because he's made this program a consistent winner over the last decade. No matter who has graduated or moved away, the Falcons are consistently one of the top programs in whatever class they are in.

OFFENSIVE PRODUCTION – 33.8 Points Per Game

Millwood's offense comes into this week with a balanced attack that can beat opponents in a variety of ways. They are averaging just shy of 34 points per game and can beat teams with the pass or the run. One other thing to look out for on Friday afternoon is when they find the end zone, the Falcons typically always go for the two point conversion instead of kicking the traditional point after. Whether that will come into play, time will only tell. But the Falcons have some pretty solid playmakers on the offensive side of the ball that can light up the scoreboard.

DEFENSIVE PRODUCTION – 10.8 Points Per Game

Coming into this season, we really liked what Millwood brought back on the defensive side of the ball and they've definitely backed up the preseason hype. They've looked good against some of the better competition on their schedule and the thing that we like the most about this defense is that they are opporunistic. They force turnovers in clutch situations and if they can do that again on Friday, they are going to have a solid shot to get the gold ball. They come into this week's game giving up a little over 10 points per game but they face a tough Washington offense.

STAR POWER

Millwood junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='434614' first='CJ' last='Turnbull'] comes into this week's game as one of the more experienced players on the field. Turnbull has been QB1 for the Falcons since the very first game of his freshman year. And this season, he's taken a significant step forward as a quarterback and as a prospect for the next level. Turnbull has always been very talented and it didn't take long to figure out that he had the potential to be a special player. But this season, it's like he's in full control of this Millwood offense. He can make plays with his arm and with his legs if he needs to. He's a dangerous player and more than capable of leading his team to a title.
