We're back in the film vault, and today we're looking at some gifted sophomore signal callers. These young men have made a big impact at the varsity level and are certainly names we need to watch for moving forward. I watched each one of their tapes and broke down their skill sets. Look for them to continue to make noise this season and beyond.

[player_tooltip player_id='616359' first='Savoy' last='Nichols'] 6'4” 185, University High

A long pocket passer with the arm to stretch the field vertically, touch, poise in the pocket, and controlled footwork. This young man consistently places his shot throws over the shoulder in stride, he's got a pretty quick release & throws a tight ball, and he can add value as a runner in the red area.

[player_tooltip player_id='946510' first='Carter' last='Lattelle'] 6'1” 175, Klein

Carter is a feathery deep ball thrower with a fluid release, sudden hips, and an innate ability to throw off different platforms. This young man is a gamer who can manipulate high safeties with his eyes, he'll stand tall in the pocket with pass rushers bearing down and can alter his arm slot at a moment's notice to avoid getting passes batted at the line of scrimmage.

[player_tooltip player_id='1130919' first='Christian' last='Hampton'] 6” 175, North Garland

An electric dual-threat prospect who can gash defenses on the ground with his legs. He's an accurate third-level thrower, he makes defenders look silly in space and has enough arm to hit fieldside throws. When edge pressure comes, he climbs up into the pocket with his eyes still downfield, he's quite accurate and forces a defense to choose him or a receiver on the scramble drill.

[player_tooltip player_id='1248406' first='Julian' last='Navarrete'] 5'10” 170, Champion

Don't let his size fool you, this kid is an absolute baller with a big arm and big-time ability. Julian made some ridiculous throws off-platform and he's a natural anticipatory thrower who will have the ball out of his hand before his receiver is out of his break. He can manipulate the pocket to buy himself time and has another gear at the third level as a runner.

[player_tooltip player_id='205501' first='John' last='Madden'] 6” 175, Frisco Lone Star

A relaxed quarterback prospect who is highly productive off play-action. He shows consistent ball placement on the goal line, is accurate throwing on the run, and isn't easily rattled by the rush. He's consistent and can be effective operating in a multitude of offenses.
