If you have been following me since I began at Prep Redzone, you might have noticed that I generally pick games that turn out to be one sided in the end. That was not the case in this classic Seminole district matchup versus these two rivals in what they call the "Jug Bowl." Heritage is having a great season coming into the game with a 7-1 record, and EC Glass was looking for a much needed win coming into the game with a 4-4 record. The scoring opened early with the teams exchanging scores. By half time, the score was 17-13 with EC Glass on top. Glass, and he had himself a good game leading the Hilltopper's offense. He scored the only offensive TD for Glass with his rushing TD in the first quarter. Throughout the game, he proved to be a fearless runner and displays a nice arm in the passing game. However, Jertavius had other plans and took the ensuing kickoff to the house to tie the game. He shows good vision and elusiveness on the return and showed up to make a play that shifted momentum to E.C. A strong defensive lineman who was able to take on blocks and shed them to make the tackle. If he wasn't making the tackle, his penetration was allowing his teammates to make the play. I have covered him on a mid-season review recently that you can view <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2024/10/mid-season-film-reviews/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">here</a>. What I'll attest to is that what you see on film is what you see throughout the game. He shoots the gap assignment quick and disrupts the running game. Glass' Linebacking group played great last night, and Roy is one of the features of it. He was involved in many tackles throughout the game. This was the <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2023/09/game-report-jefferson-forest-vs-heritage-game-report/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">second time</a> I was able to watch him play, and I like the development he has put into his game. I highlighted his toughness as a player in my game report featuring him last season, and that is still a big part of his game. Yesterday, he displayed a strong arm to throw the deep ball with accuracy that set up the TD run he had to open the game. He is one of the best athletes on the field and used his legs to continue drives. Glass would run. He shows good processing and range at the linebacker position and takes good angles to the ball carrier to sustain leverage on the play and make a tackle. He is a hard-hitting, physical tackler and does not shy away from any player. On defense, he was making plays throughout the game from his OLB position, with strong edge contain on run defense and also had a sack on the day. At running back, he is a shifty runner who is able to get through small seams in the defense for extra yards.
