New Names: 2027 DBs Coming Off Strong Season

Georgia is chalked full of skill position players. With college programs starting to put together their boards for the 2027 class, here are a few new DBs on my radar to watch for.    [player_tooltip player_id='1147245' first='Kaleb' last='Duhart'] is a name that has popped up a few times this fall, but this is the first time I've turned on the tape to watch him play. He is a solid player all around with position versatility. His size around 5'10 160 might project him best to a safety spot, but he holds his own on the outside in man coverage. He plays with good mirroring skills at the line and is fluid enough in his hips to flip and play in phase with receivers. He produces against the ball, something he will have to continue to show proof of in order to stick at corner.     Ian Foust produced for Roswell at CB this fall against good competition week in and week out. He has size and speed indications that project well to cornerback, measuring around 6'0 170 and reporting GPS speed of 21+ MPH. He is best working with cushion, where he showcases his explosiveness to click and close on receivers and frequently undercut routes. He is a bit raw fundamentally, but he pairs his speed with outstanding foot speed, which allows him to quickly get into his backpedal and match the footwork of receivers. His foot speed certainly translates from his soccer background. Foust is a developmental corner prospect who will improve as he becomes a more fluid athlete. He is battle-tested against stiff competition.     [player_tooltip player_id='1567290' first='Braelan' last='Lang'] is a corner prospect with breakout potential. He is a long 6'2 180 with a basketball background. He has the length and verticality to consistently play above the rim and challenge the catch point. There's no verified speed available but his basketball background shows proof of athleticism and he skates around the field. He is a solid tackler, using his length to uproot ball carriers in the open field. He brings energy after he makes big plays. Lang is a prototype corner prospect and it's a matter of time before he starts generating P4 buzz. He has a clear P4 grade from me.     Ayden Abdullah-Tolson is a versatile, well-developed DB prospect who projects best as a nickel/safety. He is a smooth mover, frequently gliding across the field to make tackles. He is patient in coverage and has smooth hips, allowing him to handle in-breaking routes well. He uses his length to frequently crowd and annoy the hands of WRs, while also proving hard to throw over. He has room to add plenty of weight, which will only make him more formidable as a tackler. I expect D1 buzz to head his way soon.     Tyler Mobbs was an all-region honorable mention performer this fall and was productive against the ball and as a tackler. Mobbs has a T/F background and has GPS speeds just under 20 MPH. He might not possess elite athleticism, but he is a patient defender and takes tremendous angles to the football. He is a solid tackler from the second level and isn't afraid to strike. He uses his length in pass coverage, frequently poking the ball out and closing already tight windows. Mobbs should pick up some college buzz down the road.     [player_tooltip player_id='655240' first='Myles' last='George'] already has an offer under his belt from Georgia State, but he is still a new name to me. George is a verified T/F athlete and plays both ways for Villa Rica. However, he projects best as a DB. He plays well within the box, rallying to the football and making physical plays on the ball carrier. He defends in-cutting route concepts well and settles into throwing lanes for easy plays on the football. George will play best as an N/S, where he can float into the box and act as a run-and-chase defender.
