#11 Vista Grande heads up North to take on #6 Prescott in the first round of the 4A payoffs, which is where I'll also be located Friday night to take a close look at numerous prospects from both sides including [player_tooltip player_id='1193495' first='Johann' last='Gundermann'], [player_tooltip player_id='1200982' first='Adam' last='Lloyd'], Josiah Peoples, [player_tooltip player_id='954408' first='Eltorna' last='Gant'], [player_tooltip player_id='954376' first='Athiaun' last='Arol'], and many more. [player_tooltip player_id='583076' first='Uriah' last='Tenette'] (UC San Diego basketball commit) has proven to be the best player on the field in each 10 weeks Prescott has played, and it will be interesting to see how Vista Grande gameplans for him in this rematch from week 4. Whoever comes out on top in this one looks to take on the winner of Canyon del Oro vs Snowflake in the quarterfinals.

Vista Grande

Vista Grande posts a 7-3 record with their only three losses coming against Prescott (week 4), AZ College Prep, and a forfeit loss against Arcadia. Needless to say, Vista Grande is hungry for a win especially heading back up north where things got a little chippy last time. I really like the energy and competitiveness of these Vista Grande kids, as they play with a fired up chip on their shoulder. In fact, the only close game they dropped this year was that 31-26 loss at Prescott, as they were able to grind it out against Coconino (12-7), St Josephs CA (26-24), and last week at Combs (21-16).

Prescott

Prescott has been on a roll after suffring their only loss of the season in week 2 to Thunderburd, grinding out some close wins to post a 9-1 regular season record, one of the best records the school has ever seen. They had two back to back statement wins early on, beating Nothwest Christian 42-41 and Vista Grande 31-26. They caught more momentum when they went to rival bradshaw and beat them 27-17 a few weeks back, then captilized with a 35-28 win ver Coconino, silencing a ton throughout the state. They're fresh off a blwout at Mingus 40-0, which puts them in a really good spot here to start the playoffs. Thye've got a taste of pretty much everything this season- close games, a loss, a rivalry win, and week by week flashing a high powered offense with a stout D to go along with it. Theyre loaded with big play threats all across the board, and I'm looking forward to see what adjustments they make in this rematch vs Vista Grande.
