It's never too early to take a look at prospects that will be impressing on the high school ranks in less than 12 months. Some people may argue that you can't tell this early, but I'd challenge them to take a look at the five Utah prospects below. All five prospects below are only in 8th grade, but are already better players than many of their high school counterparts. Take a look at these prospects below and remember them for the future.

Renteria is an exciting two-way player at both Wide Receiver and Defensive Back, but has also taken direct snaps allowing him to show off his running ability. His five-game highlight tape is impressive.

He lists himself at 5-foot-10 and a 155-pounds as of October 2024. While it's difficult to tell how accurate that is, he does have some longer legs and more than adequate muscle mass. Just a good lookin prospect from head to toe

As of this write up (10/1/24), Renteria is a key member of a Mountain Ridge team that sits with an unblemished 7-0 record on the season and is fresh off an impressive 13-6 victory over previously undefeated Northridge.

He is listed at 6-foot-3 and 170-pounds as of October 2024, which appears to be pretty accurate based off that I've seen on film and in pictures. Incredible body and frame for an athlete in the midst of his presumes final season of pre-high school ball.

I'm really high on Satiu as a prospect and think he has the potential to get very far in his career. He's a physical mismatch because of this size, but also has the ball skills, ball skills and athleticism to go with it. He's a kid to offer right now.

On top of his ability as a Linebacker, which is where I see him playing long term, he's also a punishing Running Back on the offensive side of the ball. Proving to be one of the better RBs in the greater Salt Lake City area too.

On film his lateral movement is elite. His ability to scrape, while keeping his toes pointed towards the line of scrimmage and keeping his head on a swivel to avoid blocks is nothing short of text book play.

Toilolo lists himself at 5-foot-11 and 160-pounds as of October 2024. It's difficult to tell exactly how accurate that is, but it looks very close. Regardless of actual height/weight at this point, he checks the box in terms of muscle and a frame that will pack on muscle easily.

He's listed as an ATH (Athlete) right now because he truly impacts the game in all three phases. Plays the game fast and aggressive, regardless if he's returning kicks/punts, playing Wide Receiver or Defensive Back. Long term I think he projects to a Strong Safety of sort, because he closes exceptionally well and comes down hill to take heads off.

Long term, I love Faamoe as your classic 2 or 3-technique along the defensive front. He's equally dangerous as a guy taking up blockers to free up his Linebackers, as an uncaged interior Defensive Tackle tasked with making a stop in the backfield.
