The first 2028 MD/DC/DE rankings recently just released and I take a look at the top 5 overall prospects. These rankings are an early list and things are sure to change over the years however. For now though, we get some early eyes on my overall Top 5 and breakdown how they've shown out so far this year.

I stopped by FCA back in early August for a practice and Chris was one of the first names Coach Hunter brought up to me. Once we got out to practice I could see why. Chris looks the part on the hoof, with a long lean frame that will be 190+ before you know it. A playmaker on both sides of the ball for Friendship at both WR and S. He's a physical player who will come down the alley and hit and on offense he shows the ability to track the back, while being an impressive leaper to go up & get it. Chris already holds three power 4 Offers he picked up this fall and that number will only increase.

Kam is a player I have gotten to see multiple times recently between 7v7s, practices, scrimmages, games....and he has impressed me every time I've gotten eyes on him. He's got nice length for his frame and big hands. As a WR he is very smooth and fluid, a natural at the position. Mainly playing in the slots, Kam flashes some good twitch and agility after the catch. He has shown strong hands, will go and snatch the ball and catches it away from his body. Kam currently holds 3 Power 4 Offers and he will garner many more. I am big on his game and can see him staying as the #1 WR in his class.

Tysir is a great body for a freshman, tall and long with a frame that will fill out with to be a yoked up dude. He plays the edge for Middletown HS (DE) at both DE and OLB. Physical and athletic, Tysir will strike the ball carrier and lay down a good hit. He can also run in space, shows good change of direction and fires off the edge with speed and bad intentions. Tysir has the mindset and athletic ability to be a impact player at the next level. How big and filled out he becomes will determine what position he ends up, but he will be a force going forward. Holding two offers so far, he could be a double digit offer kid by this time next year. I see Tysir competing for the #1 spot in his class rankings in the future.

Japhya comes in as the #1 ranked RB in the class and he sure has played like it so far this season. Great looking on the hoof, Japhya is a yoked up freshman and all of 200lbs with a thick build and strong lower half. He runs behind his pads, with power and a strong wide base. He can take a hit, bounce off & keep going. Shows good balance and patience as a runner. Japhya has good long speed and nice burst through the hole. Uses a good jump cut/juke to avoid defenders at the LOS. Overall Japhya has some MJD/ Marshawn Lynch style to his game with his lower center of gravity and strong base with good balance. With two Power 4 Offers already, I can't wait to see more of his game in the future.

I've been to two McDonogh games already this season, and RJ popped in both of them. He is an OL/DL prospect but so far he has shined as a DT in my mind. He made nice plays for a sack in both games I was at. RJ has good size for as freshman at 6'3" and strong not sloppy 275lbs. He moves well with natural bend, and athletic for his size. He's explosive off the snap, physical and a good motor. Has displayed active hands and a nice rip move, as well as good power/strength in shedding off blocks. RJ only holds one Power 4 Offer so far, but I have really liked what I've seen in his game so far and he will be on lots of colleges radars this year.
