Running backs were busy in week 7 as teams fine-tuned their ground games in anticipation of the approaching post season.

It was also a typical Friday night in Kansas, with gusting, and at times gale-force winds, blowing through making the passing game tricky at some locations. Just more rationale to pound the rock.

And, challenging weather or not, the stud running backs were out in full force last Friday, as there were a number of incredible rushing performances by RB's and even had a couple of QB's turn in record-breaking ground games that I gave a shout out to in my earlier article on top QB play posted yesterday.

So, without further adieu, let's shift gears and take a quick visual scan of some of the best running back performances in week 7.

[player_tooltip player_id='442344' first='Jayden' last='Lang'], 6'1, 195, ATH, DeSoto '25 - went scorched earth last Friday in his team's 67-8 stomping of Blue Valley Southwest. The senior playmaker needed only 12 carries for 210 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. He also added another TD, to give him five on the night, on a pair of receptions for another 21 yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='1317948' first='Lucas' last='Meyer'], 5'9, 180, RB, Wichita Heights '25, has bounced back from a hamstring injury that cost him the first two games of the season in a big way, shredding defenses for 730 total yards and six touchdowns in his last five games. He has done it in a variety of ways, picking up 405 yards on only 37 carries, catching 9 passes for 171 yards and added 154 more yards on returns.

[player_tooltip player_id='780477' first='Blaise' last='Adger'], 5'11, 210, RB, Olathe North '26 - the versatile junior all-purpose back had another standout game with 140 yards on 19 carries and a couple of touchdowns. On the year he has gained just under 800 total yards on 650+ yards rushing and another 140 receiving, to go along with 11 touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='780429' first='Zane' last='Farney'], 5'11, 175, RB/DB, Sterling '25 - the 1,500+ man from a year ago got off to a slow start in his first game this year but has been en fuego since then. This past Friday he amped up even more, piling up 300 yards rushing and six TD's, with the first five coming before the end of the first half. He also added nine tackles on defense. For the year he has gained 1,177 yards on 149 carries and scored 14 TD's.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115494' first='Cooper' last='Marx'], 6'1, 225, RB/LB, Andale '25 - is a huge part of powerhouse Andale's overwhelming dominance so far this year, and this past Friday was more of the same as he only needed four carries to churn out 113 yards and four touchdowns in a 67-0 dismantling of Trinity. He was also active on defense, picking off a pass and taking it to the house, to give him five total TD's on the night, and added a fumble recovery just for good measure.

[player_tooltip player_id='570213' first='Brody' last='Weir'], 6'4, 245, ATH, Wellington '25 - another multi-positional stud who didn't waste any time dominating, scoring four touchdowns on six carries in the Crusader's win last week. He was also a wrecking ball on defense, with 11 tackles, six tackles for loss and four sacks as he camped out in the Rose Hill backfield most of the game. On the year he has 43 tackles, to go with 24 TFL, and whether playing as a TE, H-back or fullback has also hauled in 17 passes for 266 yards and a TD.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552973' first='Kade' last='Smith'], 5'11, 195, RB, Hutchinson '25 - hardly broke a sweat in the Salt Hawk's crushing win over Newton 56-0, as he only needed four carries to break the 200 barrier, picking up 205 yards rushing and averaging over 50+ yards per carry, while scoring three TD's. On the season he has gained 1,194 yards on 140 carries and 10 TD's, including a 91-yard score.

Tate Warren, 6'2, 205, RB, Wamego '25 - is a senior stud in the making who was a serious workhorse last Friday rushing for 265 yards on 37 carries for three touchdowns in a 28-12 win over Clay Center.

[player_tooltip player_id='1608866' first='JJ' last='Crawford'], 5'10, 170, RB, Paola '25 - another big-time player flying under the radar, had versatile performance in leading Paola to a 47-6 thrashing of Bonner Springs. On the night he piled up five touchdowns rushing, nine tackles and three tackles for loss.

In conclusion, these guys are too good not to get out and see live. Additionally, if you know of any player or team that is flying under the proverbial radar, reach out to me via DM on X.
