Rice finished the game having completed 8-of-15 passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns against St. John's College. He connected with wide receiver DaMarion Fowkles for two long touchdown passes (71 and 77 yards). Granted, Fowkles did most of the legwork on both plays, but Rice showed patience in letting the route develop and caught Fowkles perfectly in stride. Those two scores in the third quarter helped Good Counsel pull away in a game that was closer than what the final score indicated. Rice's strong second-half included a third-touchdown pass, for 12 yards, to talented tight end [player_tooltip player_id='402022' first='Rowen' last='Walsh'] (West Virginia and Memphis offers). He showed good timing and touch on his passes. St. John's did come with the pressure against Rice, but he avoided making any costly turnovers.

Williams scored the game's first touchdown on an 7-yard run in the second quarter, putting Good Counsel on the scoreboard first. Throughout the game, he had several key runs including a 14-yard run in the fourth quarter. Williams was a big reason that Good Counsel was able to keep the chains moving and helping them sustained drives. Kudos to the offensive line for opening holes for him and making Good Counsel's offense balanced. Williams is the type of player that you realize is better than you think once you see him in person. He is explosive off the ball and is elusive both in short space and on the second level. He may be considered small in stature, but he is a strong runner and can move the pile while running in-between the tackles. He has several FCS offers now. Williams showed his patience on several runs, allowing blocks to develop before bursting through the whole. His consistent running was important, especially earlier in the first half which saw only one score.

Fowlkes finished the game with four catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns. He made the most of his targets as he was on the receiving end of two of Rice's touchdown passes for 71 and 77 yards. He caught slant passes for both touchdown receptions. He caught each one in stride and outran the defense for at least 60-plus yards both times. Fowkles straight-line speed is phenomenal, and it showed as none of St. John's College's defenders could catch up with him. Pitt is looking smarter every day for locking up his commitment because he may be better than most people realize. St. John's has a talented secondary, so that makes Fowkles' performance even more impressive.

Talley-Rhodes already has some buzz to him and after watching his performance against Good Counsel, it's easy to see why. At 6-foot-1, 215-pounds, he already has the size of a college running back. Taylor-Rhodes, with the help of his offensive line, was the most consistent performer for St. John's against Good Counsel. He had at least two runs of 20-plus yards and had multiple strong runs against a strong defense. Talley-Rhodes ran hard and broke tackles on a consistent basis throughout the game. There were a couple of runs that showed his ability to take and deliver hits and punishment. He's not all power though, as he proved to be elusive in the open-field and quickness to bounce a few runs to the outside for positive gains. Last week, Talley-Rhodes was offered by Maryland, Virginia Tech, and Boston College. Looks like the word is out on Talley-Rhodes

You could say that Woods had a mixed performance against Good Counsel. Passing wise, there were some throws earlier in the game that he missed that could've helped St. John's either keep the chains moving or get in scoring position. To his defense, Good Counsel's defense had him under duress all game. He was able to make plays with his legs throughout the game, including a 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter that made it at 14-7 game in Good Counsel's favor at the time. He was sacked a couple of times, and his lone interception was caused by his arm getting hit while throwing the football. Woods has a lot of potential and he's been thrown into the fire this season as a sophomore. His mobility and ability to make plays with his legs helped St. John's move the football. Woods has an offer from USF.
