I've watched the OAA, OK, and MAC Red in person. I have also watched four of these five prospects in person, and I'm very excited for them to be on the rankings. Here are my evaluations of five players from these elite leagues!

Alex is a recent discovery of mine. By all accounts, Alex has been playing extremely well all season.

His tape showcases a ton of high-level safety play. The first play from his midseason tape shows Alex anticipating a pass, breaking on the WR, and running the ball back 100 yards for the pick-6. There, I really like the speed out of his initial break, then of course the 100-yards was fun to watch as well.

The rest of the tape displays a lot of great run support. When the sea parts and he's suddenly 1on1 with an RB, Alex does a great job of attacking the RB and bringing him down quickly. As opposed to being hesitant and ultimately missing the tackle; something I see with a lot of safeties.

Liam has some very nice tape, and his size is the only thing holding him back from being a D2 or D1 prospect.

He's everything you could realistically ask for in a high school defensive end. First, great physicality. That's half of the game in High School. I think the opposing lineman did an OK job in Liam's first highlight, but Liam won late with a physical inside move and ultimately earned a sack. On the very next highlight, Liam wins with an extremely quick inside stunt and earns the TFL. I could go on and on- just watch the tape!

Unfortunately, Liam's size greatly limits his upside. Very few D2s recruit 6'2" defensive ends, and even D3s may be hesitant. It sucks because SO few people are 6'6" 260 with 35-inch arms, but the fact of the matter is that a prospect with worse tape than Liam would be the one earning those D1 offers. Upside > Skill in college recruiting and even in the NFL Draft.

Dean could get a rankings boost depending on his end-of-season highlight tape and athletic testing numbers.

He was one of my biggest standouts of the season. He did an incredible job against Rochester Adams, showing excellent reactivity and play speed. I also really liked his tackling technique and pass defense.

Not too much to go off of on tape, but his performance against Adams in addition to Dean being a phenomenal baseball prospect makes me confidently rank him at #233.

Rowan earns a ranking after a good offseason and a great regular season.

I've watched Rowan closely in person, both at offseason events and during a game. Against Oxford, Rowan was the most dominant lineman on either team. He's a dominant tackle, able to run block as well as any. Down blocks, reach blocks, you name it- Rowan will likely execute and will pancake you if caught lacking. I generally like Veer offensive linemen a little better than Wing-T offensive linemen, but it's obviously better for a lineman to be part of a college-adjacent offense.

That said, I don't think Rowan is a strong pass-blocker, and that's what's limiting his recruitment. Rowan currently has one offer from Calvin, and I think that program would be a phenomenal fit for him.

If Hudsonville is going to make it to Ford Field, they've got to force pressure, defend the pass, throw the ball effectively, and have sound special teams. Cole is involved with every one of those areas.

A few weeks ago, I took many notes on his play at DB. Against EK and on film, Cole is an incredible blitzer and willing run defender. There are many instances where Cole becomes a free rusher, commonly sacking the quarterback or forcing a quick throw. The first two plays on his Week 1-3 tape are excellent examples. Cole is also a very effective run defender, playing similarly to a linebacker.

Cole also has a ton of offensive tape. It's a small sample size, but I'm generally impressed with Cole's athleticism. He's an open-field threat and can also take the top off the defense.
