I’ve talked about Rowan several times over the past month.
That’s because I think Rowan has played a major role in this improbable run. Adams went from a team that I had counted out to a team that’s a coin-flip to play in the State Championship.
Always being a run-heavy team, Adams relies heavily on their offensive line play. Starting at tackle, Rowan provides above-average agility alongside excellent physicality and whistle-to-whistle effort. He’s also a player that doesn’t seem to slow down throughout the game, something that I see from a lot of offensive linemen.
Excited to see how Rowan attacks a very smart Hudsonville defense!

Rowan is a Friday player. I had one opinion on Rowan during the offseason, but that opinion is changing dramatically as the season goes on.
Last week in particular was impressive. His first highlight showcases a phenomenal screen block, where Rowan quickly chips the DE before barreling upfield, delivering a big hit to the DB. The next highlight shows Rowan executing a great release block, completely eliminating the LB from the play. The rest of Rowan’s offensive tape shows him continuing to make gaping holes for his RB to run through while also pass blocking quite effectively.
Rowan also has a fair bit of defensive tape. His three defensive highlights show that same power that he showed offensively. Rowan consistently overpowered the Clarkston offensive line, and he made a few great inside run stops.
GREAT week for Rowan, and I’m looking forward to seeing how he does against Grand Blanc.

Rowan earns a ranking after a good offseason and a great regular season.
I’ve watched Rowan closely in person, both at offseason events and during a game. Against Oxford, Rowan was the most dominant lineman on either team. He’s a dominant tackle, able to run block as well as any. Down blocks, reach blocks, you name it- Rowan will likely execute and will pancake you if caught lacking. I generally like Veer offensive linemen a little better than Wing-T offensive linemen, but it’s obviously better for a lineman to be part of a college-adjacent offense.
That said, I don’t think Rowan is a strong pass-blocker, and that’s what’s limiting his recruitment. Rowan currently has one offer from Calvin, and I think that program would be a phenomenal fit for him.

Rowan is a great lineman for Adams. When it comes to run blocking, Rowan is excellent. Time after time, Adams ran it to Rowan’s side, and Rowan did a great job moving bodies. He’s got a powerful first step and is able to immediately win leverage, and he very rarely lets an Oxford defender dodge his block. He’s a perfect lineman for this scheme! In terms of pass blocking, Rowan hasn’t looked very polished in the past, but that’s expected from a lineman in an option offense. I think Rowan deserves a NAIA opportunity! Way too much upside to be passed up.

I had heard of Rowan, but I had not yet seen him in person. I was really impressed overall with how Rowan moves, and how well he took coaching and applied it to the next rep. On run blocks, he has a nice bucket step and doesn’t struggle to get his defender turned the way he wants. On pass sets, his steps are smooth, and he has a strong base and great hands. I think his trajectory from where he is to where he is going is on a great path and I am pumped to see him develop into the lineman it’s looking like he could be!

Kawa is a 6’3, 258 lbs offensive tackle out of Rochester Adams. The junior was probably the most athletic offensive linemen at the PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase, as he displayed tremendous footwork and technique throughout the camp. Kawa kick steps with urgency and plays with a strong base and actively blocks in pass pro. He held his own against bigger defensive linemen and used his strength to defeat faster rushers off the edge. Kawa is a rising star within the state of Michigan who is sure to see his recruitment heat up soon.
