Expert Analysis

Liam has some very nice tape, and his size is the only thing holding him back from being a D2 or D1 prospect.
He’s everything you could realistically ask for in a high school defensive end. First, great physicality. That’s half of the game in High School. I think the opposing lineman did an OK job in Liam’s first highlight, but Liam won late with a physical inside move and ultimately earned a sack. On the very next highlight, Liam wins with an extremely quick inside stunt and earns the TFL. I could go on and on- just watch the tape!
Unfortunately, Liam’s size greatly limits his upside. Very few D2s recruit 6’2″ defensive ends, and even D3s may be hesitant. It sucks because SO few people are 6’6″ 260 with 35-inch arms, but the fact of the matter is that a prospect with worse tape than Liam would be the one earning those D1 offers. Upside > Skill in college recruiting and even in the NFL Draft.
