High Upside Athletes Having Great Seasons

Heading Into week 9 of the regular season, there are a number of players who have had fantastic seasons and notable performances. This article is going to highlight some players who have had great seasons up to this point.    Despite his size, Herman has been one of the most productive players in the entire state this season. His first step off the line is quick and he hits his top speed in a hurry. He releases from the line and runs clean routes, typically making quick cuts and exploiting holes in the defensive secondary. In addition to his offensive productivity, he's also an elite punt and kick returner who can provide a huge spark at any time. He has the attention of most of the GLIAC, which I think would be a great spot for Searcy to shine!     This kid is having an incredible season for Cass Tech. Just this week he had 3 interceptions against King in the conference title game. He's a gifted athlete who does a great job of reading, reacting and using his elite speed and athleticism to cover ground. Whether it's in the run game or in coverage, he has the play making ability to be a problem for the offense. Kent State is getting an absolutely incredible player who will be a force for years to come.     Jett has quietly put together a great season so far in 2024 for the Saxons. He possesses great size and some ideal traits you want out of receivers. He is able to leverage his size and physicality to box out defenders and maintain leverage to the ball. He gives his QB a big radius to throw the ball, and I love the way he is able to work through his route and find separation. Jett was not on my radar until the last couple of weeks, and he has definitely raised his stock in my eyes. He definitely needs some offers and recruiting attention which I am not seeing yet.     Lagat is a super high upside kid from Goodrich who is pretty elite on both sides of the ball. Offensively is where I think he really shines, as he is an incredibly talented RB. It seems effortless to make guys miss whether it be in open space or in tight quarters at the line of scrimmage. His vision and lateral quickness allow him to break free on any given carry. Jakoby regularly scores multiple TDs per game and eclipses 100 yards. He is going to be a special player, likely at the D1 level.     After receiving a PWO spot from Michigan State, it made me go back and watch what he has done so far this season. After watching his film from this year, I definitely see what prompted the offer! He's an explosive receiver who can take the top off a defense with his elite speed and route running. I love the way he can adjust to balls and get leverage in tough situations. He as all of the tools to be an incredibly WR at the next level, and I am thoroughly impressed with his growth since the last time I watched him, so hats off for the work he's put in!     It is impressive to see what this kid has done big picture wise. He completely invested in himself and changed his body, he put in countless hours of work at camps and showcases across the state of Michigan to improve in all areas, and he is absolutely doing it all at Canton offensively. Talk about high upside- this kid is playing QB, RB and WR at different points in the game, and is extremely effective in all of these roles. He has a good arm and gets the ball out quick, he runs good routes with blazing speed and has the hands to reel in tough catches and has great patience, vision and feel in the run game. It still baffles me that he doesn't have more offers than he does, but whoever gets him is going to get a steal who can do it all and will be one of the hardest working kids in the program.
