4A Washington Mid Season All State- 1st & 2nd Team "D"

Here we will break down Washington's top players midway through the season. Per usual if you play for one of the better teams in the state, you are much more likely to be selected as an all-state athlete. This is not a recruiting-based list.   Please note there will be extended 1st & 2nd team selections in lieu of 3rd team or honorable mention picks.          From a D line standpoint [player_tooltip player_id='402789' first='Derek' last='Colman-Brusa'] is looking like one of the best to come out of the state in some time, sitting with 5 sacks and 16 tackles for loss through 6 games. Washington St commit [player_tooltip player_id='723691' first='Luke' last='Webb'] has been an absolute menace up front for Camas, with Yelm doing well at 5-1 largely due to the presence of [player_tooltip player_id='1510394' first='Bol' last='Bol'] and wrestling champ [player_tooltip player_id='928117' first='Jonah' last='Smith'].    [player_tooltip player_id='693846' first='Josiah' last='Asuega'] continues to be one of the fastest rising prospects in the NW, accumulating 30 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks through 6 games. Last but not least a pair of Graham Kapowsin D lineman who have been crucial in their success. 6-4 220-pound junior [player_tooltip player_id='1530860' first='Quinncey' last='Ratteray'] looks like the real deal with [player_tooltip player_id='1136428' first='Jonathan' last='Haas'] being one of the best in Washington. Both have 3 sacks on the year.    The returning GSHL POY [player_tooltip player_id='693691' first='Nikko' last='Speer'] sits at the top of the charts in all statistical categories including INTs where he has 5. As mentioned he is a state POY favorite. 6-1 225-pound Jr. LB [player_tooltip player_id='1165398' first='Austin' last='Glivar'] of Sumner is having a phenomenal year and could challenge him for the award.    As most know both [player_tooltip player_id='348147' first='Zaydrius' last='Rainey-Sale'] and [player_tooltip player_id='273753' first='Jonathan' last='Epperson Jr']. rank as two of the top players nationally and are committed to UW. This while Sr. LB [player_tooltip player_id='1136314' first='Cooper' last='Macpherson'] is having an unreal year at Chiawana, and 6-3 210-pound junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='936091' first='Colby' last='Johnson'] has a stock that is skyrocketing. His play this year will have him in the conversation for Kingco POY accolades at Eastlake.    [player_tooltip player_id='693768' first='Keagan' last='Howard'] is an unquestioned 1st team all-state LB with 44 total tackles, 6 tfl's, and 2 sacks, with [player_tooltip player_id='1512546' first='Beau' last='Harlan'] of Camas being more than deserving of the all-state selection. He sits towards the top of the charts statistically with 50 tackles and 8 tackles for loss.    The DB's are headlined by returning Washington 4A Defensive POY [player_tooltip player_id='693687' first='David' last='Kuku']. The Washington St commit continues to impress along with 6-3 200 pound all everything athlete [player_tooltip player_id='693693' first='Casey' last='Larson'], who has multiple INT's and will likely be one of the top players in the Big Sky as he heads to Idaho.    [player_tooltip player_id='726148' first='Zamarie' last='Tellez'] is one of the top two-way threats in the West and will be a P5 guy likely on offense.
