About Jayden
Expert Analysis
Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
A lot to like about Jayden’s skillset with his combination size, athleticism, and short area quickness. At 6’1” 185 lbs. he’s strong and physical at the POA and does a good job using his hands in coverage. Shows good ability in both press and off coverage to run with receivers at all three levels. Well coached, he’s patient with his reads and efficient with his footwork limiting wasted movement. Plus reactionary speed and change of direction to accelerate out of his breaks and make a play at the catch point. Aggressive tackler that brings strong contact but also does a good job breaking down in space and wrapping up to the ground. Under recruited at this point he made a big jump in the updated PRZ state rankings and has great upside and potential to play at the D1 level.

Rice-Claiborne has great vision and recognition on the perimeter, and the heart to capitalize on it often. He plays disciplined with good footwork and can excel in several different zone coverages, with strides and eager hands playing loose and excited. Not only does he play loose at 180, but he also plays big and hits hard, also appearing coordinated for a lengthy 6’1″ skill player. He’s a willing low tackler but needs to continue to utilize his lower body to drive people into the ground. While he moves well and hits hard, he doesn’t press or use his hands nearly enough to impede receivers; he needs to hand fight whenever possible, and will become a more physical and much more disruptive and sticky corner as he instinctually turns and runs tighter with his hands remaining on them. If he does this, he could develop his full potential. He’s been showing good reps with FSP as well this offseason.
