[player_tooltip player_id='1352636' first='Kamhariyan' last='Johnson'] is a force on Muscle Shoals's defensive line that has dominated opposing offensive lines all season long. This past week, Johnson put together a ridiculous performance against Cullman that featured him completely dominating the line of scrimmage. Johnson was constantly in the opposing backfield making plays and was a huge part of why his team won 55-27. Johnson presents a ton of obstacles for opposing offenses to overcome- he consistently closes running lanes to meet the ball carrier at or behind the line of scrimmage and is a productive pass rusher with a wide variety of moves he uses to generate pressure/sack the quarterback. All of this showed up on tape- Johnson ended the game with 3 tackles (2 for loss) 4 sacks, one forced fumble, and one blocked field goal. Johnson truly took over the game on the defensive side of the ball and never looked back- it seemed like every snap he was generating pressure, sacking the quarterback, or making some kind of impactful play. be sure to keep watching him down the stretch, he's a talented player with plenty more good performances to come!

[player_tooltip player_id='1189042' first='Cayden' last='Adkins'] has been a dominant force on Elba's defense year after year and has brought the same level of play to the field in his senior season this fall. Last week Elba faced off against Brantley and Adkins put together one of his best performances this season. In a close 57-13 victory, Adkins made a ton of plays on both sides of the ball and was a huge reason why his team was able to win. Adkins is a big guy who plays with a lot of speed and acceleration at his size- he consistently creates explosive plays from sideline to sideline against the run and pass and is always a threat to force turnovers. It was easy to see this last Friday as Adkins had a heck of a game. He ended his night with 11 total tackles (8 solo, 2 for loss) and one safety. In a high-scoring game, Adkins did a ton for his team and was able to make some game-changing and game-saving plays throughout all four quarters. Be sure to keep watch of him going forward, he's a talented player with plenty of more plays to make this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='800902' first='Lucas' last='Oakley'], a senior linebacker out of Brooks, has been a key factor in his team's defense the last several seasons and is off to a great start this year. Last week against Wilson, Oakley had an unreal performance that featured him making plays all night long in his team's 61-14 victory. Oakley is a highly athletic linebacker that can make plays from sideline to sideline- he plays with a ton of effort, does a great job wrapping up on tackles, and is an instinctual player that finds himself in the right spot to affect plays every snap. All of this was easy to see throughout his performance against Wilson- Oakley had a huge game that featured him racking up 12 total tackles (1 for loss) and one forced fumble he recovered and returned for a 50-yard touchdown. It's been super impressive keeping track of Oakley's play this year, he's been a dominant defender to start out the year and shows no signs of slowing down. Be sure to watch Oakely going forward, he's a talented prospect with plenty more in the tank this season!

[player_tooltip player_id='744119' first='Bishop' last='Burkhalter'] has been a standout linebacker for Spanish Fort throughout his whole career and has continued much of the same success in his senior season. Burkhalter has been terrific this season and is coming off a huge performance against Murphy. Burkhalter played extremely well and was a huge part of why Spanish Fort's defense only allowed 6 points in a 44-6 victory. Burkhalter flew all around the field to rack up a bunch of tackles, generate pressure on the quarterback, and make plays on special teams. It was especially impressive to watch Burlhalter find the endzone twice throughout this game- he was unstoppable on all accounts. All of this showed up on tape against Murphy as Burkhalter ended the game with 11 total tackles (3 for loss), 2 sacks, a safety, a fumble recovery for a touchdown, and a punt return for a touchdown against Murphy. Be sure to watch Burkhalter the rest of this season, he's consistently been a top defender in the state over the last two years and is bound to keep making plays!
