This offseason, he went to work and really vaulted himself to a new level. His tape so far this season shows big improvement in his read-and-react skill, he looks quicker and still packs that big punch I have always noted of him. So far, he is absolutely terrorizing offenses, especially in the run game. Defensively though, this kid is in on every tackle it seems like. Coming off the edge, he can usually out-athlete the opposing blockers and get to the QB. He blows up run plays with his quick first step and brings the boom with him. Even offensively, his best highlights are thundering blocks where he absolutely cleans out would-be tacklers. His quickness and athleticism allow him to get in on a ton of plays, racking up a ton of tackles. The West Bloomfield defense is very good in the back end, so having a guy in the box to sure up the run stoppage is huge for the Lakers. Against some elite competition early in the season, he was willing and able to come up in the run game and fire himself downhill for tackles. He is also very good at breaking down and making the tackles in space when the opportunity is there. He is incredibly strong, has a great first step and has a ton of moves to break free from a blocker. He makes nearly any play that comes his way on the ground and gets to the QB more often than not when pass rushing.
