During Week Four of the Kansas prep season, I scouted a United Kansas League match-up between the Leavenworth Pioneers and Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds.

Here is a look at four Thunderbird prospects who performed well in front of the home crowd.

[player_tooltip player_id='780113' first='Tyren' last='Parker'], WR/DB, 6'2”, 180, Shawnee Heights, ‘26

Parker is currenlty ranked No. 5 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. He is super long and athletic. He was a tackling machine for the T-Birds from his safety position. He has solid hands and runs nice routes. He has a long stride and is unafraid to catch balls in the middle of the field. Parker is a Division I prospect being pursued by multiple Big 12 and Big 10 conference programs. One Big 12 assistant coach attended the game and scouted Parker. Parker is versatile enough to stay in the secondary, or get bigger and play linebacker.

[player_tooltip player_id='611096' first='Aiden' last='Scott'], QB, 6'5”, 190, Shawnee Heights, ‘26

Prep Redzone Kansas has the Thunderbird signal caller ranked No. 13 overall. In Shawnee Heights' first three games, Scott had combined to throw for 918 yards and eight touchdowns entering the contest. He throws a tight ball and can throw deep. He has the perfect size for a pocket passer. He is not asked to run much in this scheme, but he did throw a couple of nice balls on the run against Leavenworth. He has one offer from Washburn University in his pocket, and interest from an FCS program. His list of suitors will only continue to grow.

[player_tooltip player_id='1428950' first='Royce' last='Daniels'], DL, 5'11”, 190, Shawnee Heights, ‘26

I featured Daniels earlier this season for being one of the top tacklers for Shawnee Heights. This was the first time I saw him play in person. He is a little undersized for your prototypical defensive end, but he can flat-out scoot. He is a match-up problem for bigger defensive tackles. He is tough as nails and not afraid to stick his nose in a gap. I was impressed with his assignment discipline and ability to hold the edge. He made a quarterback sack by maintaining outside containment and not overrunning the play.

Zyhir Foster, DL, 6'3”, 315, Shawnee Heights, ‘27

A young prospect I was impressed with is just a sophomore. Foster is one of the biggest guys on the Shawnee Heights roster and one of the biggest I can remember at Shawnee Heights. In my years coaching in the Topeka area and covering football for the Capital Journal, Heights is not a program known for producing giant athletes. Foster is a space eater and lining him up next to Daniels benefits both athletes. If he gets stronger and develops a mean streak, this young man could wreak some serious havoc in the furute. He is young and raw, but his natural physical abilities are in place.
