[player_tooltip player_id='1360709' first='Eddie' last='Johnson'] deserves every chance to play running back on the next level. He brings size and a feel for the position, making him a worthy recruiting target there. That said, the kid is a football player. And that's part of why he excels with the football in his hands. He can utilize vision and cutting but Johnson also is liable to flatten the defender. He also battles for every yard. His toughness and athleticism would work at other positions. Johnson is a type of kid you love to have in the program because he'll do whatever is needed to win.

Bell was a little rough around the edges when he took over as the Spartan starter as a junior last season, particularly in throwing the ball. You can tell he's worked hard to become a better passer and develop his overall game. It happened throughout 2023, and he showed another gear here. Bell completed 16 of 24 throws for 169 yards and a touchdown in this win. It represented the perfect balance to Johnson's success in the run game. Bell looks more relaxed and comfortable in the pocket and in leading the offense. He's technically sound with good zip on the ball. Bell also punts and is a good enough overall athlete to move off quarterback at the next level.

Wilson is a big reason why the Spartans like running [player_tooltip player_id='1360709' first='Eddie' last='Johnson'] between the tackles. A three-year starter at center, he possesses that natural calmness and focus needed for success at the position. Wilson takes care of his pre-snap duties before firing off the snap. He gets under the pads of opponents, and then employs a powerful foundation and strong hands in controlling them. He rarely gets beat or pushed back on his heels.

Kelley is average when it comes to physical stature. On the football field, he's anything but. Kelley stung the Clipper defense on this night as Bell's favorite target. He caught eight passes for 90 yards, raising his numbers to 13 receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown through two games of his sophomore campaign. Kelley looks like he's next in a long line of Spartans that is a hard-nosed contributor on both sides of the ball. The versatility and toughness give college scouts options.

I've been writing about Clubb for four years. It's been fun watching him develop as a player, and I look forward to seeing what he can do with the Bison. I chuckled in this game when I saw Clubb line up at left offensive tackle and maul. He's always had the motor and the drive. It's nice for NDSU that it has a fallback option of playing Clubb on offense. That said, let him rip on defense. He has the flexibility to play inside or out with his athleticism and strength. Clubb has added to his toolbox of pass rushing moves through the years and always has been stout against the run.

Keller is fighting perception, which is that he isn't in a classic mold of a college lineman. I would suggest scouts put on the film. Keller plays bigger than his size thanks to a thorough understanding of how to play in the trenches, impressive strength and surprising quickness. He could work at guard or defensive tackle in college, depending on the scheme and what a given staff seeks at those positions. Keller has a lot of high school reps under his belt and has used them to get better. That bodes well for future growth.

Rosenburg is doing his best to show colleges what they're missing out on if they don't start looking his way. He hauled in seven passes for 119 yards against a stingy Solon defense. He caught a touchdown in the opener. Rosenburg also is a prospect in the secondary. He does a nice job in coverage and run support, providing evidence that safety is a possibility. Rosenburg runs well with the size to break tackles or deliver them.
