Bell was a little rough around the edges when he took over as the Spartan starter as a junior last season, particularly in throwing the ball. You can tell he’s worked hard to become a better passer and develop his overall game. It happened throughout 2023, and he showed another gear here. Bell completed 16 of 24 throws for 169 yards and a touchdown in this win. It represented the perfect balance to Johnson’s success in the run game. Bell looks more relaxed and comfortable in the pocket and in leading the offense. He’s technically sound with good zip on the ball. Bell also punts and is a good enough overall athlete to move off quarterback at the next level.
