Prep Redzone North Carolina will start to take a look at Mid-Season MVP Candidates at each position as we start to get a good idea of where not only teams stand, but who the best players are at their respective positions across the state of North Carolina. We will discuss a limited number of top performers at each position, however, if you feel we have missed someone - please feel free to let us know! We want to try and shine a light on every truly deserving player who we can cover!

The consensus #1 player in North Carolina in the 2025 class has not only been dominant on the offensive line, David has also been a force on the defensive line as well in big games for the Chargers - he pretty much played every snap in a showcase game against Weddington and logged some heavy minutes on the defensive line in a tough game against Charlotte Catholic. David has committed to Tennessee, and by every indication they are getting an especially talented player and a wonderful young man by all accounts.

Per Gavin's Twitter profile, he has 15 Division 1 offers - featuring Mercer, Richmond, Gardner-Webb, & Charleston Southern among others. I was able to see Gavin up close this season when Rolesville came down to Charlotte to play Butler, and he led that offensive line to an absolutely dominant performance. I think Gavin does an excellent job snapping and stepping to shaded techniques in both the running game and in passing protection. Gavin is a very strong player and can stunt defensive tackles attempting to bullrush him. Finally, I like how Gavin climbs 2nd level to cutoff linebackers in the running game - complete package at center.

Kiande's confidence in himself is infectious, and it's no accident the Huskies are having an incredible year on offense with him leading a big and powerful group up front. Kiande is an excellent run blocker and enjoys pancaking defenders on a regular basis. Kiande has committed to South Carolina State, and they are getting a heck of a talent and a leader in my honest opinion. Kiande made waves earlier this spring at several showcases where he would challenge defenders and make a show of being physical and putting them in the ground.

Tai is a high-level offensive lineman committed to Auburn University, and his presence has helped his team, the AL Brown Wonders, get off to a good 3-1 start to the season. Tai is a prototypical left tackle who can dominate in pass protection. Tai moves his feet very well in mirroring a speed-rushing defensive end and runs him away from the quarterback almost effortlessly. I also love Tai's aggressiveness in the run game - he can drive block well off the snap, skip pull with good agility, and get out in spaces on screens in the passing game.

A couple of weeks ago, Jabian received an offer from Ohio State University, reflective of the talent he is showing at the mid-season point overall. Jabian also has offers from schools including Purdue, South Carolina, Kentucky, and West Virginia among others. To be such a large prospect at 6'7 and 290 pounds, Jabian does a great job of being light on his feet, especially in pass protection. At left tackle, Jabian does a great job of staying in front of quicker players at Defensive End in pass protection. Jabian is also a physical blocker in the run game - he does a great job of fitting his hands inside the frame of a defender and driving them for several yards downfield consistently.

With offers from Wake Forest and Hampton in hand, my honest opinion is Donovan should be receiving even more attention. Donovan is a nasty and strong prospect who relishes dominating his blockers at the point of attack. He is athletic and can pull and pin in the running game, get out and lead block in the screen game, and pass protect at a high level.
