After an action-packed week of high school football action in the Bluegrass State, it's time to take a closer look at some of the most impactful prospects to showcase their talent on the field. Without any further ado, here's my list of Kentucky Stock Up Performers from Week Five of the season.

In the first place spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='283976' first='Luke' last='Tompkins'], a wide receiver at North Oldham High School. Tompkins has been a monster on the offensive end this season, picking up 380 yards and seven touchdowns. What stands out the most about Tompkins is his breakaway speed and ability to quickly get open in the backfield for the deep pass. I also like how Tompkins can bully the defense down the stretch and break free from the defense after the catch.

I am additionally impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='373793' first='Landry' last='Collett'], a quarterback at Leslie County High School. Collett made his presence known under center, picking up 333 yards and three touchdowns last week. What impresses me about Collett is his unpredictable playstyle, showcasing his ability to blast into the endzone himself and hit his receivers in stride from anywhere on the field. I also like how Collett can quickly scan the backfield for an open man and remain composed under pressure.

Claiming the number three spot on my [player_tooltip player_id='1175792' first='Garrett' last='Courtney'], an offensive lineman at Bullitt East High School. What makes Courtney so impactful at the line of scrimmage is his ability to read the defense in the pocket and utilize his size and strength to contain multiple defenders in crucial moments. I also like how Courtney can blast the defense to the ground and provide good blocking to buy his team time and space to run the ball.

Another skilled prospect to watch for is [player_tooltip player_id='1175832' first='Bragdon' last='Welch'], a running back at West Jessamine High School. Welch has been a challenge to contain recently, picking up 194 yards rushing on 39 carries as well as 95 yards receiving on seven catches. Welch has also punched in two touchdowns, one deflected pass and a forced fumble. What impresses me about Welch's playstyle is his size and overwhelming strength on the run, proving he can blast past the defense in the pocket and hit the opposition hard on the other side of the ball.

Coming in at number five on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='871294' first='Hudsen' last='Close'], an offensive lineman at Taylor County High School. Close makes a huge impact at the line of scrimmage due to his size, speed off the snap and his ability to absorb defensive pressure. I also like how Close can quickly stun and overwhelm the defense, utilizing his arm strength to push the defense back behind the line of scrimmage.

Also worth mentioning is [player_tooltip player_id='953600' first='Kyle' last='Sledge Jr.'], an athlete at Bowling Green High School. Sledge was a huge defensive playmaker this past week, hauling in an interception against Central Hardin. Sledge impressed me with his ability to attack the ball in the air and quickly take it the other way, recording a 45-yard return off the interception to put the offense in prime field position. I also liked how Sledge could read the offense like a book and quickly adapt in the backfield.
