10 Uncommitted Small Town Super Stars

Halfway through the regular season and time and time again out state prospects from small towns ball out, but never get the attention they deserve. I found 10 uncommitted dogs from Minnesota's second smallest class, whose talents would make a big impact at the collegiate level.    On only 11 carries during a hard-fought Week 4 loss to an undefeated Goodhue team, Wangen managed to rack up 69 rushing yards. You'll be very impressed if you put on any of his tape from his junior season. Wangen is an explosive runner, able to cut upfield at the drop of a hat. He keeps pumping his legs through contact, leading to broken tackle after broken tackle. He's an underrated ball-carrier who would be a great asset at the next level.     Very rarely do you find an out state linebacker with a frame like Lea, and it's even rarer to find one with his unique combination of size, speed, and patience. Phenomenal when blitzing, Lea often finds himself in the backfield, wrapping up an unfortunate ball carrier for a TFL. While he can play high at times, he also fills and scrapes to gaps exceptionally well. A MIAC school would be well served to slide Lea and offer soon.     I have long loved Bunke as a runningback prospect, and he's also started to pick up steam as a linebacker as well. One of his most appealing attributes has to be his speed, he's often the fastest athlete on the field, and with the ball in his hands, he's an incredibly dangerous offensive threat. If you get Bunke 1-on-1 on the outside, it's a recipe for success. Bunke needs more love as a prospect because he can present a lot of problems for defenses at the next level.     Olcott has been one of the biggest surprises during the 2024 season, and he's been finding ways to help Wabasha-Kellog win through the first half of his senior season. Boasting a variety of filthy releases off the line of scrimmage, Olcott creates immediate separation allowing him to chunk giant gains off short routes. With a 3 TD game under his belt already, schools need to keep their eyes out for Olcott during the rest of his senior season.     A three-sport athlete who is the gunslinger for Wabasha-Kellog, Pavelka has seen varied success through the first half of his senior year but has flashes of high-level play. Boasting a quick release and a tight spiral, Pavelka can dice defenses on short routes, but when given enough time in the pocket he can uncork his arm and sling it deep too. If Pavelka can continue to click with his offense, Wabasha-Kellog could be a tough postseason squad.     A ferocious run-stopper who put forth an incredible Week 4 performance, Schauer is one of many Lester Prairie athletes who have been balling out this season. Against a Power-T offense in Week 4, Schauer was able to suffocate ball carriers by blowing up their lead blockers time and time again. With intense physicality, he's proving to be a prospect to watch in 2024.     We're halfway through the season, and Gatlin-Coellner has been going nuts. Through four games he has 426 rushing yards, 142 receiving yards, and 7 total touchdowns for one of the best teams in Class A. On his tape, he shows off quick cuts and promising speed, all while hitting and exploding through small running lanes at the line of scrimmage. Gatlin-Coellner is a multi-faceted offensive threat who is going drastically underrecruited.       The signal-caller for one of the best teams in Class A football, Herrmann has been going ballistic on both sides of the ball through the first half of his senior year. As a QB, he's electric. Able to extend plays with his legs before finding an open target in the end zone. He'll stand in the pocket and take a lick if it means that the ball will find an open man downfield. Defensively he's a hard-nosed DB who does a great job of using his hands to break up passes.     One of the best offensive linemen in outstate Minnesota, Suess is uncannily quick for someone of his size. He works his way to the second level often and does a great job of working off double teams to a linebacker. When Suess manages to get a head full of steam, he'll drive a linebacker into the dirt with ease. He'd be an insane get for MIAC schools looking to find a high-upside offensive lineman.     It's rare to find a tight end with Krumwiede's size who hasn't been scooped up yet, but the #12 TE in the class of 2025 remains uncommitted halfway through his senior season. He's used primarily as a blocker in GFW's power-T offense, where he's able to effectively collision defensive linemen and displace them off of the line of scrimmage. He's got a tremendous upside for coaches willing to take a chance on the big man at the second level.
