Top Performances From District 3: Week 1

<p class="text-gray-700">Brandon Way put on a show Friday Night in the 42-41 win over Camp Hill. He had 188 yards rushing and 3 rushing touchdowns on the evening at running back. One of the rushing touchdowns was for 55 yards and it is a thing of beauty as he showcased his speed and his ability to make defenders miss. He also had two touchdowns in overtime as Lancaster Catholic went to him to score the last two touchdowns. Before overtime Camp Hill was going to score a touchdown and Way had a game-saving interception from his cornerback position. He threw for an eye-popping 382 yards and 6 touchdowns. Branstetter is one of the better quarterbacks in the area, and despite a rough loss, I expect he will continue to shine for Camp Hill. The other thing is that they could meet Lancaster Catholic later in the year in a re-match in the playoffs.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='941136' first='Michael' last='Miller'] is someone I was tracking last year, but Muhlenberg struggled badly last year, well with a new Head Coach on Friday night the Muhls looked like a completely different team when they got a big win against Schuylkill Valley. Miller was one of the main catalysts for that success. He had 136 yards rushing, including a 29-yard touchdown run. Miller also played excellent defense as well. He is a name to follow this season.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='598810' first='Declan' last='Clancy'] had a good year last year for Manheim Township, and he continued it Friday night with a good performance in a win over Cumberland Valley. Clancy had 4 touchdowns on the night for Manheim Township as they blew out Cumberland Valley. College Football coaches will need to check out this guy soon. I expect more dynamic games from him coming. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1317148' first='Spencer' last='McClintock'] is a mauler on the offensive line. He helped Manheim Township excel and romp Cumberland Valley in its opening. McClintock is a classic tackle with the size, strength, and athleticism to play the position. Well for week one he showed he belonged on the high school level. He rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns in the 50-30 win over Red Land. Well, Friday night he exploded onto the scene. He rushed 4 times for 111 yards and showed explosiveness in the run game. He was also efficient as a passer going 12 of 16 for 238 yards. He also ran for two touchdowns and passed for two touchdowns. Myers and Twin Valley will be tough to beat this season. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='453138' first='Justice' last='Hardy'] is a talented running back and defensive back for Wyomissing. On Saturday he rushed for 119 yards, and 3 touchdowns in Wyomissing's win over Southern Columbia. He is an explosive athlete who can score anytime he touches the ball. He is also a good player who plays well on defense. Hardy should eventually get some looks this year from Colleges. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1155802' first='Brooklyn' last='Nace'] put on a show Friday night in Central Yorks win over Central Dauphin. He went 21 out of 27 for 218 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also rushed for 41 yards. It also has this poise he plays within the pocket. He rushed for an eye-popping 217 yards and two rushing touchdowns. He is an explosive player who can score anytime he touches the ball. He also has the explosiveness and the ability to make people miss in space. He has all the tools to be a successful quarterback and he has the potential to play well this season. He is good inside and outside the pocket as a quarterback. In McCaskey's week one win over John Bartram Cintron threw for 263 yards and 4 touchdowns. He had the game-saving sack against Southern Columbia. He also made several plays on defense as well. I expect Eisenhower to be a good two-way player for Wyomissing. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Making his 1st varsity start [player_tooltip player_id='1165818' first='Caileb' last='Howse'] showcased his legs rushing for 165 yards rushing in the win against Solanco. Howse is a big and physical runner who is hard to bring down. He was also 5 for 7 for 78 yards through the air and 1 passing touchdown. Howse is a dynamic dual-threat quarterback who I expect big things from this season.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Garden Spot played a barn burner against Notre Dame Green Pond, losing 71-64. Hurst put on a show throwing for 459 yards and 6 touchdown passes. He has all the tools as a quarterback and if you give him any time he can make a play as a quarterback. Hurst should be able to build off that game for this season. </p>    <p></p>
