One clear observation when scouting the second practice of the season for the Seaman Vikings is that they are going to be fast.

Seaman has multiple weapons on offense and will be quick on defense. The whole roster is a little undersized, but numbers will not be an issue for the Viking coaching staff. More than 120 athletes have gone out for football at Seaman.

I watched some drills during the Vikings' second practice and keyed on four prospects on the defensive side of the ball.

Jordan is currently ranked No. 67 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas. He is a space-eating nose tackle who can stop the run and create space for his linebackers. He has three collegiate offers from Washburn University, MidAmerica Nazarene, and Coffeyville Community College. It might be difficult for those programs to land Jordan as I think multiple Division I and Division II schools will come calling before his senior season is over. He has legs like tree trunks and even though it was a non-padded workout, I could tell he plays with solid pad level and low to the ground.

Osborne is ranked No. 231 overall in the Kansas Class of 2025. He is competing for one of the starting linebacking positions for the Vikings. I was impressed with his quickness during the practice. He is also very personable and extremely coachable. He is not an athlete who will take plays off and the one nice aspect of seeing a team practice without pads is that I could tell he is built like a brick outhouse! Osborne is currently looking for his first official offer to play college football.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115717' first='Hayden' last='Cummings'], LB, 5'8”, 190, ‘25

The Viking linebacker is ranked No. 324 overall by Prep Redzone. He plays middle linebacker and has a nose for the football. I saw Cummings at a college camp in 2023 and he participated in multiple college camps again this summer. He has a quick first step, gets his head to the correct side when preparing to make tackles, and has improved his overall confidence since I saw him last.

[player_tooltip player_id='1274119' first='Hayden' last='Foxhoven'], DB, 5'9”, 155, ‘26

Foxhoven is currently ranked No. 192 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. He has explosive speed like many of the Seaman prospects. He will be used as a hybrid safety/linebacker in the Vikings' scheme. He is expected to be a key pass defender heading into his junior season. I liked his speed and feel he could be used as a return man or gunner on special team units.
