I just put to bed the 2025 Prep Redzone Kansas Rankings Update. The rankings will be updated early next week and now include 550 total ranked athletes.

Prep Redzone scouts will have multiple reports featuring the athletes in the new rankings next week.

To wet your beak for prep football news and tie you over until the rankings pop, here is the third and final Preseason All-Deck team. This one features ranked athletes from Class 2A and IA schools.

Enjoy your sports weekend and thanks for supporting Prep Redzone Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='868977' first='Keveon' last='Ruiz'], ATH, 6'2”, 170, Medicine Lodge

Ruiz is one of the highest-ranked small school prospects in the class of 2025 rankings. The speedster is ranked No. 122 overall and has the versatility and size to play multiple positions. He has played quarterback, and defensive back, and can return kicks. He threw for over 2,000 yards last season and 19 touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='1112380' first='Corey' last='Crumrine'], QB, 5'9”, 155, Sedgwick

I have a soft spot for the Sedwick Cardinals as my mother's family was from there. The Cardinals play in scout Wade Cargile's viewing area, so I won't see them play in person this fall. Crumrine threw for over 3,000 yards last season and accounted for 34 total touchdowns. Over the past two seasons he has thrown for more than 5,000 yards and 50 TDs. He is currently ranked No. 78 overall and is the ninth-ranked quarterback in the Kansas Class of 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='285495' first='Ace' last='Monihen'], QB, 6'0”, 180, Council Grove

Monihen is ranked No. 250 overall by Prep Redzone and is an exciting prospect for the Braves. He can play on either sides of the ball and is a prospect that NAIA programs should be recruiting. Last year he had 12 tackles for lost yardage and has accounted for more than 50 total touchdowns on the ground and through the air.

[player_tooltip player_id='1228451' first='Joey' last='Millspaugh'], RB, 6'0”, 180, Halstead

Halstead's Millspaugh is currently ranked No. 151 overall in the class of 2025. He is a versatile two-way player who would add solid depth to any college program. He caught 46 balls last season and carried the ball 44 times accounting for 700 total yards. During his junior season, he finished with 72 total tackles and he can return kicks.

[player_tooltip player_id='866511' first='Teron' last='Kraft'], RB, 6'0”, 180, Hoisington

Prep Red Zone has Hoisington's Kraft ranked No. 160 overall. The Cardinal running back rushed for over 1,200 yards last season and scored 13 touchdowns on the ground for Hoisington. I saw the Cardinals play Minneapolis a couple of seasons ago, but chances are I won't catch them in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115036' first='Tyce' last='Melvin'], WR, 5'8”, 140, Norton

Melvin would be a dangerous wideout no matter what size of school he was playing for. The Bluejay prospect is currently ranked No. 243 overall by Prep Dig. Melvin starts at wideout and in the defensive backfield for Norton. He picked off quarterbacks five times as a junior and made 56 receptions for 888 yards and six touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='1273509' first='Trent' last='Rollenhagen'], WR, 6'1”, 200, Silver Lake

The Silver Lake Eagles wideout is recently featured in the KS Pregame statewide football preview. He is ranked among the top wideouts in class 2A. He is a speedster who also uses his legs on the track. The Eagle pass-catcher accounted for over 500 yards receiving and eight touchdowns on a team that does not historically throw the ball all that much.

[player_tooltip player_id='1317955' first='Braeden' last='Nation'], TE, 6'0”, 193, Jayhawk-Linn

Nation is the highest-ranked small school tight end in Kansas. He is currently ranked No. 450 in the class of 2025 rankings. He also plays linebacker for the Jayhawks. He caught 38 balls as a junior and found the end zone seven times. Nation has a nice combination of size and speed and plays a physical game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1399457' first='Ethan' last='Bohl'], LB, 6'1”, 175, Minneapolis

Bohl will be a new addition to the rankings next Tuesday. He is a ball-hawking linebacker who created two fumbles and recovered two fumbles last season. He finished with 55 tackles in nine games for the Lions and had seven TFLs for the Minneapolis defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1223985' first='Thatcher' last='Botkin'], DB, 5'9”, 130, Galena

Botkin is the one-player currently ranked from Galena. My first coaching job was for the Southeast Kansas school. Botkin plays solid coverage and finishes tackles. He can also play wideout and runs solid routes. It will be interesting to see how much college interest he gets with Galena being in Independence CC, Coffeyville CC, and Pittsburg State's backyards.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115735' first='Ethan' last='Luck'], DB, 6'2”, 170, Lyons

Luck is a hybrid defensive player who can play linebacker or safety. He is ranked No. 343 overall and was an all-league performer last season for the Lions. He finished his junior season with seven interceptions and 53 total tackles. On the offensive side of the ball, he made 21 receptions for 106 yards and two touchdowns.

I have Florida State versus Georgia Tech on the big screen and waiting for Shota Imanaga to toe the rubber for the Chicago Cubs, but it is football season and there is work to be done.
