Defensive Playmakers: DL, LBs, and DBs Standing Out Early

<p>Two weeks into the 2026 Kansas high school football season is not enough time to crown a state defensive player of the year as we head into week three. It is enough time to see who is already dominating. There have been linebackers noticeable for playing through contact and the whistle, defensive backs who finish dominant in all phases, and defensive linemen who collapse the pocket and wreak havoc. College coaches hunting talent will notice the same names that Prep Redzone Kansas has been tracking.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Secondary:</h2>    <p>Beckett Schuette has been impressive through two games. The senior is averaging nine tackles and already has two interceptions for the Eagles' defense, which has handled business. His impact and impression have come from the safety position. Through two games, the young prospect has racked up three tackles, three interceptions, and three PBUs. Through two games, he had posted 15 tackles (nine solo), seven tackles for loss, and five sacks. He has made three tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack. On top of that, he's racked up one tackle for loss, one PBU, and one interception. Elder can stack and shed effectively, shedding and making plays at the line of scrimmage. Through two games, he's racked up 15 tackles (10 solo), five tackles for loss, two sacks, and one PBU. Peek is assignment sound, doesn't overpursue, and will fill running lanes quickly with physicality.
