Preseason 6A All State 1st & 2nd Team - Defense

The Oregon 6A Preseason All-State team is structured to highlight those individuals who project to be the most valuable on their individual teams. It is NOT a list with just the top recruits. Instead of honorable mention picks you will see extended 1st & 2nd team selections. Also referenced will be the Offensive & Defensive POY candidates.    Please note that this is not an all-conference breakdown, so it will be much more difficult to make this team when incorporating the entire state. DEFENSIVE POY CANDIDATES (#1-4)   1.[player_tooltip player_id='769915' first='Noah' last='Tishendorf'] 26' Lakeridge   2.[player_tooltip player_id='632957' first='Josiah' last='Molden'] 27' West Linn   3.[player_tooltip player_id='285855' first='Baron' last='Naone'] 25' West Linn    4.[player_tooltip player_id='766200' first='Treyson' last='Eddleman'] 25' LB Lakeridge         If we are talking on the 6A state player of the year defensively, I like [player_tooltip player_id='769915' first='Noah' last='Tishendorf'] to battle West Linn's [player_tooltip player_id='632957' first='Josiah' last='Molden'] and [player_tooltip player_id='285855' first='Baron' last='Naone']. Tishendorf added offers from the likes of Oregon St and Washington St over the off season, and went crazy as a sophomore, making 56 tackles, with 20 tackles for loss, and 9 sacks.   Molden has already been recognized by numerous publications as a preseason All American and one of the top players in the country for his class. Naone is listed as a 4* TE but was absolutely dominant at DE last year. Both him and Molden were unanimous 1st team all TRL and 2nd team all-state selections in 2023.    [player_tooltip player_id='766200' first='Treyson' last='Eddleman'] is another individual I could see making a run at POY honors. Look for the Sherwood transfer to make 100+ tackles and land a couple FCS and/or Mid Major offers towards the end of the season.    Other athletes who will make a big splash on the defensive front include this off-season's fastest rising prospect in 6-3 300-pound DT [player_tooltip player_id='527045' first='Dominic' last='Macon'] who committed to UW. He has the potential of being twice as good collegiately.   1st team all TRL returner [player_tooltip player_id='285881' first='Lusiano' last='Lopez'] and underrated 6-4 220-pound DE/OLB [player_tooltip player_id='285849' first='Oliver' last='Macy'], are two other LO standouts who should be 1st team all-state guys and a big reason the Lakers are ranked #3.    Speaking of underrated, [player_tooltip player_id='287053' first='Trey' last='Kennedy Coleman'] of North Medford showed out all off season, adding offers from the likes of Washington St, Utah Tech, and Portland St.   One of the most intriguing players to watch this year is [player_tooltip player_id='527032' first='Mana' last='Tuioti'] of Sheldon. The 5-11 225-pound LB will be a double digit D1 offer guy and potentially one of the best RBs in the NW as well.    I would expect Portland St commit [player_tooltip player_id='754631' first='Kayce' last='Tinner'], a long and rangy OLB to have a big year. Two other juniors who will likely blow up on the recruiting front this season, include 1st team all-Metro two-way athlete [player_tooltip player_id='457009' first='Sam' last='Vyhlidal'] & the very talented [player_tooltip player_id='402406' first='Donnie' last='Vercher III']. The CC standout already has an offer from UNLV.    Looking at the DB's, two seniors who we will talk about often include [player_tooltip player_id='406755' first='Zyon' last='Floyd'] of Lakeridge and [player_tooltip player_id='406770' first='Trevin' last='Laird'] of Tigard. Floyd will project as an FCS prospect, with Laird possessing legit size and speed and putting together some phenomenal film from his junior season.    [player_tooltip player_id='769995' first='Evan' last='Wusstig'], [player_tooltip player_id='1110921' first='Chaz' last='Katoanga'], and [player_tooltip player_id='914282' first='James' last='Wade'] are three other underclassmen who will represent the 2026 class well. Wusstig has the potential of being the only player in Oregon to earn 1st team all-state honors on both sides of the football.
