The Oregon high school football season continued to heat up in Week 2, with several of the state's top 6A teams putting together impressive performances. Each week, we'll highlight one player from each 6A conference who made the biggest impact on the field. While not every team's statistics are readily accessible, we'll use the information available to recognize the week's top individual performances. One important rule remains in place: to be named a Conference Player of the Week, your team has to win. However, with no team in the Pacific Conference picking up a victory this week, we're recognizing the conference's top individual performer regardless of the result. Here are the players who stood out in Week 2.

PIL

Metro League

Ballew put together a monster rushing performance to power Mountainside past West Salem 39-27. The senior running back piled up 238 yards on the ground and found the end zone three times, giving the Mavericks a consistent offensive weapon throughout the night. Three touchdowns and nearly 240 rushing yards is the kind of performance that can completely change the complexion of a game, and Ballew delivered exactly that for the Mavericks.

Pacific Conference

Brandt was one of the most productive individual players in the Pacific Conference despite Sherwood falling 37-28 to Willamette. The senior hauled in eight receptions for 219 yards and two touchdowns, giving the Bowmen a dynamic threat in the passing game throughout the night. Brandt also contributed defensively with two pass breakups. While the conference did not produce a winning team this week, Brandt's performance made him the clear standout individual from the group.

Mt. Hood Conference Player of the Week after another dominant performance from the Nelson quarterback. The senior helped lead No. 6 Nelson to a massive 49-7 road victory over No. 9 Oregon City, giving the Hawks back-to-back wins over ranked opponents. Gaines accounted for multiple touchdowns in the victory, continuing his impressive start to the year.

Three Rivers League

Baker was nearly unstoppable through the air as West Linn rolled to a 48-16 victory over Westview. The senior quarterback completed 11 of 13 passes for 333 yards and four touchdowns, consistently finding ways to attack the Wildcats downfield. Baker added another touchdown on the ground, carrying the ball four times for 20 yards to finish with five total scores. His combination of efficiency, explosive passing, and mobility gave West Linn everything it needed to pull away. Baker's five-touchdown performance continues an impressive start to the season for one of Oregon's premier quarterbacks.

Capital Conference (SD1)

Bowman followed up his ridiculous Week 1 performance with another record-setting night, needing only one half of football to put together an incredible stat line. The senior quarterback completed 29 of 36 passes for 470 yards and six touchdowns, as South Salem dominated Southridge 63-8. Through two games, Bowman is now 70-of-83 passing for 1,045 yards and 12 touchdowns with just two interceptions, all in only five quarters of action. His combination of arm strength, accuracy, and command of South Salem's offense has made him one of the most productive quarterbacks in the state through two weeks.

Southwest Conference (SD2)

Scott led North Medford to one of the biggest wins of Week 2, as the Black Tornado pulled away late to knock off 5A No. 3 Wilsonville 35-14. The senior quarterback accounted for all five of North Medford's touchdowns while throwing for 238 yards. After the two teams remained within striking distance for much of the night, North Medford scored twice in the fourth quarter to create separation, with Scott's production proving to be the difference. Leading the offense to five touchdowns against one of the top-ranked teams in the state is a statement performance.
