McLeish, Imhotep, Prove Maturity Beyond Their Years
Cannot overstate just how impressed I came away with watching the performance put forth by the second-highest-ranking 2027 passer in Pennsylvania.
A list of things that rattle non-special underclassmen quarterbacks? How about numerous setbacks via penalties, an offense filled with new faces, a defense that picked him off in the first drive of the game, a Clarkson North offense scoring two unanswered scores to cut what was a big deficit. None of this rattled Joey McLeish, a sign of unreal maturity that shouldn't be showcased this early into his career. Pulling the rock at the right time for huge chunk plays, manning a huddle that included numerous state title upperclassmen. McLeish was able to layer the football, rollouts, the middle of the field, balls thrown perfectly down the boundary, you name it. McLeish's full prowess was on display against a solid Canadian team who came in with a chip on their shoulder.
A piece will come detailing the game, the good and the bad. For now, McLeish owns the spotlight.
