Before we prepare to transition to September, we'll take one last look at some newcomers from the recent Class of ‘25 rankings update. The latest group of newcomers has been highlighted by some hidden gems, and a number of players looking to make a name for themselves this season. A good portion of those prospects hail from the Kansas City area and surrounding counties.

The Prep Redzone Kansas community has already been introduced to quite a few of these prospects throughout this week. But there's still one more group to cover. Here's a look at five of the final Kansas City area prospects that were added in the August update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1398081' first='Crow' last='Bengoa'] - Free State, 6'0”, 205, LB

Folks are likely familiar with Wyoming-commit [player_tooltip player_id='1115479' first='Parker' last='Moore']. But they may not know about his running mate, [player_tooltip player_id='1398081' first='Crow' last='Bengoa']. He was a great addition to arguably the deepest position group in our Class of ‘25 rankings. Bengoa debuted just outside the Top 500 and is the 73rd ranked backer in the class. Moore and Bengoa are sure to be one the top linebacking duos in Class 6A this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1398069' first='Elijah' last='Gray'] - Lawrence, 6'3”, 285, OL

Up next is another prospect from Douglas County. [player_tooltip player_id='1398069' first='Elijah' last='Gray'] of Lawrence was the anchor to the Chesty Lions' offensive line in 2023, as the center was a key component in Lawrence's seven win season. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound prospect cracked the rankings at No. 519 and is the 77th ranked player at his position.

[player_tooltip player_id='1398402' first='Peter' last='Gibson'] & [player_tooltip player_id='1398400' first='Andre' last='Randle Jr.'] - Bishop MIege

This year's Bishop Miege squad looks to have a well rounded group of skill position players. Two to keep an eye on are [player_tooltip player_id='1398402' first='Peter' last='Gibson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1398400' first='Andre' last='Randle Jr.'] The Stags will likely target [player_tooltip player_id='352452' first='Teryn' last='Jackson'] quite often this season, but 6-foot-3, 200-pound [player_tooltip player_id='1398402' first='Peter' last='Gibson'] could be their second option in the passing game. As for their ground game, 5-foot-10, 180-pound [player_tooltip player_id='1398400' first='Andre' last='Randle Jr.'], will have the opportunity to take over as Miege's feature back.

[player_tooltip player_id='1405174' first='Mekhi' last='Neely'] - Sumner Academy, 6'1”, 140, ATH

[player_tooltip player_id='1405174' first='Mekhi' last='Neely'] of Sumner Academy came in as the final addition of the August update. Neely rounds off the rankings at No. 549 and is the 71st ranked athlete in the class. He's a raw athlete that could benefit from a developmental year at the next level, but there's definitely upside to his game. The lengthy two-way prospect will be one of Sumner's top players this season.
