We return to the MN South Central division to take a look at top WR names to look out for in 2024! The South Central boasts a unique group of talented receivers that have showcased great potential to emerge as stars this season. Here were 6 names that stood out to me on the film last season that will become studs in the passing game in the division this year!

[player_tooltip player_id='1248722' first='Elijah' last='Jones'] didn't have a lot of film last year, but he's already shaping up to become one of the top WRs in the state. With a 300 lb max squat and a 225 lb max bench, Jones is already shaping to be a strong athlete for his position. On the field, Jones is quick and nimble maneuvering through the defense after the catch, and his cuts on his routes are becoming more polished. I hope to see more growth of Jones on the field in 2024, as he could be poised for a huge breakout season.

Standing at 6'2 185 lb, [player_tooltip player_id='1248647' first='Nolan' last='Schultze'] is a lean and lengthy receiver, and Schultze utilized his size last year to his advantage by making some really difficult catches. A smooth route runner, Schultze excels at getting open with quick cuts and sharp breakdowns. Schultze has bulked up a lot from last season, and he utilized his stronger frame well as a blocker, making him efficient in the run game as well. Schultze has received invites to camps from D2 and D3 teams and has received offers from Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Wisconsin-River Falls. Schultze will look to help push Fairmont to a state championship in 2024 as the team's top passing target.

Caleb Eppen finished as an all-district WR last season after giving DBs a very difficult time in 1-on-1 coverage. Eppen is a tall receiver with broad shoulders and a bulky upper-frame, which allowed him to be a great deep-threat for Belle-Plaine's passing game. Eppen takes long, quick strides and he will run past the secondary before they can react. Eppen plays with quick hip movement and a dangerous double-move on the DB. Eppen received his first offer last month from Wisconsin-River Falls. The MN South Central division should be on high alert going against Caleb Eppen in 2024.

Carson Ohnstad has been in the starting lineup for Waseca since his sophomore season. After splitting equal time between WR and DB last season, Waseca began to shift their usage of Ohnstad a lot more on the offensive side of the ball last season. Ohnstad played very well in 1-on-1 matchups, showing fluid movement and utilizing his whole body to bring down 50-50 throws. Ohnstad runs the whole route tree very well and extends on his routes to get open for the QB when moving out of the pocket. Waseca should continue to expand his role at WR in his senior year and allow Ohnstad to hone his skills as a reliable possession catcher.

Branson Hauskins has been one of the brightest stars for Blue Earth's offense. Hauskins' was involved a lot in the Buccaneers' run game as a blocker, and he was able to overpower DBs on several occasions. Hauskins was also the go-to target in the screen game, with Hauskins' speed and change of direction helping rack up great numbers in yards-after-catch. Hauskins is a good possession receiver who uses his frame to make leaping catches over defenders. Hauskins will be the most underrated WR to watch in this division this year.

Landen Moniz boasts an intriguing amount of strength, posting a 235 lb max bench, a 315 lb max squat, and a 365 lb max deadlift. Moniz has been a versatile player for the Knights, playing at both WR and Free Safety. Moniz shows agility and elusiveness running with the ball and shows good balance as he adjusts for difficult catches. Moniz succeeds in getting open at all three levels of the defense, making sharp changes of direction and racking up strongly on yards-after-catch. His athleticism and versatility should make him an attractive target among colleges heading into his senior season.
