Jones came into this past month’s PrepRedzoneMN Stock-Up Showcase flying, posting a 4.66 40, 4.59 shuttle, and 8’10 broad jump, and the athleticism he showed in person also showed up on tape in 2024. Jones opens his tape with a thrilling 85-yard touchdown catch and run that saw him stay upright through a tough contested catch, turn and take off, outrun a pursuer, cut past the safety, and blow past another two defenders for an electric splash play that had his sideline fired up. And that speed he showed in pulling away from the defense and finishing that run with so many defenders trialing him highlights his explosiveness well. The Jordan product can easily take the top off the defense, and has a ton of explosive TD catches from 2024. He shows the top-end speed to finish big plays and crack a ball game wide open. Augustana just sent a junior day invite, and I hope the Vikings would appreciate the YAC ability and proficiency at dusting man coverage like we do, as well as the 40 time, which earned Jones a spot on this new feature as well.

Jones posted a 4.66 40, 4.59 shuttle, and 8’10 broad jump at the recent Stock-Up Event, backing up the explosiveness we see on tape from the junior. Jones isn’t the biggest wideout around, but he opens his tape with a thrilling 85-yard touchdown catch and run that saw him stay upright through a tough contested catch, turn and take off, outrun a pursuer, cut past the safety, and blow past another two defenders for an electric splash play that had his sideline fired up. The Jordan product can win 50/50 balls and high-point the football over tight coverage, tracks the deep ball well, and can easily take the top off the defense, and has a ton of explosive TD catches from 2024. He’s a solid route runner who can win at the top of the route and accelerate out of his breaks and is balanced, shifty, and strong after the catch and with the ball in hand. Plus, he shows the top-end speed to finish big plays and crack a ball game wide open. We’re excited to see how his recruitment continues to develop now that he’s an upperclassman.

Elijah Jones Elijah Jones 5'9" | 160 lbs | WR Jordan | 2026 State MN didn’t have a lot of film last year, but he’s already shaping up to become one of the top WRs in the state. With a 300 lb max squat and a 225 lb max bench, Jones is already shaping to be a strong athlete for his position. On the field, Jones is quick and nimble maneuvering through the defense after the catch, and his cuts on his routes are becoming more polished. I hope to see more growth of Jones on the field in 2024, as he could be poised for a huge breakout season.
