Unoffered 2025 Prospects from Virginia You Need to Watch

Virginia is filled with talent on all levels of play who can become quality players from DIII-Top Power-4 teams. Displays good athleticism with very good foot quickness and acceleration, good speed, and lateral agility. He has good release off the snap, utilizing his foot quickness and lateral agility to get past the DB into his route stem. Shows good COD and explosiveness out of his cuts at the top of his routes and very good hands to secure the catch. He has the athleticism to play D1 ball and is versatile to play any LB position as well as Safety. His film is too good to ignore. I was introduced to him at the <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2024/05/monticello-hs-class-of-25-players-at-the-central-va-combine/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Central VA Combine</a> this summer, and he impressed me with his size and athletic ability. This fall will be his second season playing organized football so it is understandable that he does not have an offer yet, but I expect he will earn one this fall. You especially notice his explosiveness out of cuts. He is a shifty runner that keeps defensive backs off balance. Good athleticism displaying very good foot speed and balance, good acceleration, foot quickness, lateral agility, and change of direction. Displays good vision as a ball carrier to identify the hole with good burst through the hole, accelerating quickly with good balance to stay on his feet and keep his stride. Good ability to create yards with his vision and lateral agility to evade defenders in the hole. Finished the run well with physical toughness to fight for extra yards. He averaged 11.7 yards per carry and scored 8 TDs last season (per his <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/16309069/6595af4a0c552a0ac0baa951"><em>Hudl highlight</em></a>). Also plays Cornerback on defense where his athleticism allows him to play good man and zone coverage. He has good read and reaction to the throw to be in position and displays good ball skills to force incompletions by stripping the ball from the receiver's hands. He is a versatile player who starts at QB and DB, but he has the athleticism to play WR as well. He has been putting in great work this offseason in the weight room and making his rounds at camps. I was able to see him at the <a href="https://x.com/ScoutAPC" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Appalachia Prep Combine</a> this summer, and he held his own against some good receivers as a DB. At the next level, DB or WR are likely where he will play. I plan to attend one of Craig County's games this fall, so stay tuned for future updates on Jaycob and the rest of Craig County's team. He has FCS upside to his game. He excels in both run blocking and pass protection. He moves well and plays with good pad level. Explosive at the point of attack and imposes his will. He has good processing in space blocks, able to process the angle needed to make a block on the second level, he can pull block, and sustain blocks in space. Displays good pocket awareness and feel for the pass rush to step up or roll out. His athleticism does make him a threat to run the ball forcing defenses to keep an eye on him. Has a solid release with good anticipation on his throws, leading his WRs in their routes. Displays good adjust to the ball, able to reposition his body in stride to make a catch with his good hands. Elusive after the catch and displays breakaway speed.
