I will admit it. It is easier to focus on players from the larger programs. They usually get more publicity, making it easier for people like me to find information on the top players. On top of that, living in the suburbs, most of the games I watch live are from the metro area. They play primarily in the larger classes like 6A and AAAAA. Part of the goal of this website is to bring you coverage from all corners of the state. I tried to do that with my trip around the state stories from earlier this month. For my next two stories, I am throwing geography aside and focusing on guys prepredzonemn.com has ranked that play at either the Class A or Nine-Man level.

Without much tape to go off of, Carstensen is too physical for many of the guys he has faced up to this point. On offense or defense, his size and power make him too hard to deal with at the Class A level. In the section finals—as a sophomore—he spent plenty of time in the backfield, registering a sack and two tackles for loss.

Sweeney is a physical wide receiver who is tough to tackle in the open field. He has good separation skills on deep routes and does a good job making adjustments on deep balls. The Cardinals' athlete runs solid routes and effectively comes out of his cuts. He doesn't let the ball get into his body. He gets his hands out in front and attacks the ball. Like most athletes at smaller schools, Sweeney plays both ways and doubles as a physical corner or outside linebacker.

Pulling across the formation from right tackle or moving outside on a reach block, Kampsen plays well in space. He is good in space because of his footwork and the solid base he starts with in his lower half. He keeps his hips low, allowing him to move quickly laterally and keeping his pads under his opponents. His straight-line speed gets him across the formation on a trap block as quickly as anyone could expect for an athlete his size. Not just a finesse player, with that low pad level and ever-moving feet, Kampsen can bury defenders – especially when he has an angle on his opponent.

We are going off potential for Javers. He played almost exclusively junior varsity last season. He might still be behind Brody Larson on the quarterback depth chart in 2024. However, with the Vikings' year-in and year-out solid passing game and the skills he showed in his junior varsity highlights, Javers looks the part of another in a long line of successful Minneota quarterbacks. He moves well in the pocket and can throw on the run. He has an above-average arm – able to push the ball downfield even when he can't step into his throws. Although I wouldn't call him a running quarterback, he can pull the ball down and deliver a hit when running the ball.
