PRZPA Team Preview, Allentown Central Catholic

<p><strong>Season Outlook</strong>: Allentown Central Catholic had a strong season last year going 9-3 on the year. They have now won 9 games in three straight seasons, which is a good accomplishment. On top of that, they return a nice core of players who should help them continue their success this season. </p>   <p><strong>Current Head Coach</strong>: Dorian Neal </p>   <p><strong>Key returning players for the 2024 season:</strong></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1157110' first='Aidan' last='Sorrentino'] is a good wide receiver. He is a slot receiver who does a good job after he catches the ball. He is dynamic receiver who when he gets into the open field he has the speed to run by defenders. He runs excellent routes, as he is able to get in and out of his breaks well. He catches the ball well in between defenders. He is a legit defensive force at defensive tackle. Here is what I wrote about him earlier this year:</p>   <p>"<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='255080' first='Braheem' last='Battles']</strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/braheem-battles/"></a> is a talented lineman who plays on the offensive and the defensive line for Allentown Central Catholic. The two biggest parts of his game that are impressive are his athleticism and his strength. He shows both of them off consistently on both sides of the ball. At the offensive line, he has the ability to move by pulling and blocking out front on run plays or on wide receiver screens. On defense, he shows his strength by pushing the offensive lineman back into the backfield. He is a legit athlete who can play as both a wide receiver and as a defensive back. I am excited to see his progress this season. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year:</p>   <p>"<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1325840' first='Jiyhzik' last='Figueroa']</strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/jiyhzik-figueroa/"></a> played cornerback last year for Allentown Central Catholic. He played it at a very high level as he was able to cover wide receivers well in both zone and man-to-man coverages.  Figueroa's best trait is his ball skills. When the ball is thrown his way he does a great job of getting his hands on the ball and deflecting the pass. He is also good in the run game by coming upfield to make tackles in the open field. Cahill shows good mechanics and footwork in the pocket. He throws a good ball and has an excellent feel for the game. He knows where he usually wants to go with the football after reading the defense. Cahill has a chance to be a good quarterback this season for Allentown Central Catholic. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1537403' first='Tommy' last='Roth'] played as a linebacker last year. He does a nice job of reading and reacting to the play and attacking downhill. He reads his keys well and then attacks against the run game well. He is also a good tackler, especially in the open field. Martinez recently transferred to Allentown Central Catholic from Dieruff. At Dieruff he was a difference-maker at wide receiver and a wildcat quarterback. At wide receiver, he shows big-play ability every time he touches the ball. He is good at taking a short pass and making a big play out of it. He also runs good routes and puts defenders in a tough spot trying to guard him. As a wild cat quarterback, he shows off his physical running style and his elusiveness. They have three legit wide receivers [player_tooltip player_id='1157110' first='Aidan' last='Sorrentino'], [player_tooltip player_id='1156024' first='Luis' last='Martinez'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1325840' first='Jiyhzik' last='Figueroa']. They have a stud at defensive tackle in [player_tooltip player_id='255080' first='Braheem' last='Battles']. If the rest of the roster steps up they should have a chance at a good season. </p>
