One Word: Athlete

The state of Alabama has some incredible players that will hit the field in a few weeks. Many of those players have versatility, speed and play-making ability. Often we find a player that seems to excel regardless of the position that the team needs him to play. We put those players in a unique category..Athlete!    [player_tooltip player_id='1590137' first='Tae' last='Martin'] is known for his versatility and playmaking abilities on the field. Standing at 6' and weighing 175 pounds, Martin gets it done on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he is a physical against the run and is a ball hawk against the pass. Martin has been named All-State in both his sophomore and junior seasons. He has tallied over 200 tackles, 22 passes broken up and 12 interceptions in the past two years. Offensively, Martin is just as productive, posting 30 touchdowns from his wide receiver spot. Martin possesses exceptional hands, making acrobatic catches look effortless. Martin has committed to the University of North Alabama where he is projected as a lockdown defensive back.     Tyler Boyd is a standout football player at Central High School of Clay County, known for his exceptional athleticism and versatility on the field. At 5'10" and weighing 165 pounds, Boyd combines speed, agility, and quickness, making him an explosive performer at multiple positions. Primarily playing as a wide receiver in a run-oriented offense, Boyd is known for his precise route running, reliable hands, and ability to make difficult catches in traffic. As a punt and kickoff returner, Boyd has incredible vision and acceleration and is a threat to make huge plays in the return game.   Boyd's has a relentless work ethic, both in practice and during games. Although the team has not relied on the passing attack, the team counts heavily on the contributions of Tyler Boyd.     It seems like whichever coach you're talking to has a different plan for [player_tooltip player_id='1584586' first='Raelon' last='Sims']. Offensively, he's currently being recruited as a running back and wide receiver. Defensively, he's projected as a linebacker or possible defensive back. Last season, Sims was a force for the B.B. Comer Tigers with 832 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also made plays sideline to sideline as the Tigers finished 13-1. Regardless of where he lines up, Sims is expected to be a force this season and beyond.     After an All-State season in 2023, Moore is expected to be even more productive this season. Moore is known as a dual-threat quarterback that can lead Center Point to even greater heights. At 6' and 175 pounds, Moore passed for more than 1300 yards and 19 touchdowns last fall. He also ran for another 8 scores and more than 600 yards. Moore is an electrifying talent that will be exhibiting his athletic skills for many years to come.     JaMarcus Washington is a standout athlete at Clarke County High School, known for his relentless energy, physicality, and sharp instincts on the field. Washington is a fearless defensive back bringing some bone-jarring tackles from the secondary. He's a sure-tackler and posted 82 stops in 2023. His anticipation is really impressive and he does a great job breaking on the ball to break up passes. Washington uses that same energy on the offensive side of the football. He runs precise routes and uses quick feet to separate from coverage.
