On June 11, four teams gathered in Wamego on a beautiful July Kansas Morning and beat the heat while competing in padded scrimmage.

Nemaha Central, Wabaunsee, St. Mary's, and the host Indians experimented with new formations and plays in the controlled contact scrimmage.

Prep Redzone attended the event and here is a look at seven prospects who stood out during the action.

[player_tooltip player_id='1329854' first='Jackson' last='Tupps'], WR, 5'9”, 165, Wamego, ‘25

Tupps is currently unranked because he moved to Kansas this summer from South Dakota. He was breaking ankles during the scrimmage and will be a dangerous downfield weapon for Wamego. He is fast, runs tight routes, and makes defenders miss. Tupps will likely play just on the offensive side of the ball. Teams did not take any special teams snaps, but to me, he looks like a dangerous option to return kicks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1329879' first='Sam' last='Nordhus'], LB, 6'2”, 185, Nemaha Central, ‘25

Nordhus is a physical linebacker and running back whom I was impressed with. He is a patient ball carrier who allows his linemen to set their blocks. He gets out of the gate quickly and takes care of the football. He chases downhill as a backer and looks like a guy who will finish tackles once the season starts.

[player_tooltip player_id='1329860' first='Jude' last='Meske'], OL, 6'2”, 220, Wabaunsee, ‘25

Meske played right tackle and defensive end for the Chargers. Wabaunsee has a new head coach and Meske could be relied on to be an early leader for the team. He plays with solid pad level and has strong legs. You can tell he does not miss many “squat days” and I imagine he can push the sled with the best of him. He had nice flexibility with his hips, however, a couple of times he got his hands outside which would have resulted penalties. He was a nice surprise and a guy I see as an option for JUCO and NAIA programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1329862' first='Howie' last='Rezac'], LB, 6'4”, 215, St. Mary's, ‘25

Rezac just looks like an athlete. The St. Mary's linebacker is tall giving him a significant edge at looking into the backfield. He pursues the football under control and won't miss many tackles. His size and long reach make him tough against the pass. I liked his closing speed and he appeared to me, to be a vocal leader for the Bears.

[player_tooltip player_id='780500' first='Carter' last='Hajek'], ATH, 6'0”, 210, Nemaha Central, ‘26

Hajek is currently ranked No. 11 overall in the class of 2026. After watching him compete in person I would say he is worthy of the high-ranking, but he will also have to work hard to maintain his current position. The Thunder coaching staff has him playing quarterback, but his future might be as a running back or linebacker. He has quick feet and made solid decisions during the scrimmage. He understands the value of each possession. He is an athlete that all Kansas college coaches should be in contact with.

[player_tooltip player_id='1329983' first='Korleone' last='Holz'], RB, 5'11”, 170, St. Mary's, ‘26

Holtz is a talented back who caught my eye. He moves well and can make people miss. He can outrun defenders or just truck them. He could also be a solid safety with his combination of speed and strength. He is also a solid blocker in the backfield who can pass protect or serve as a lead blocker for a smaller back.

[player_tooltip player_id='1113129' first='Logan' last='Fulton'], QB, 6'0”, 185, Wamego, ‘27

Fulton was the big surprise of the morning. He is currently ranked No. 71 overall in the class of 2027, but look for him to jump up in the updated rankings which will be released next week. He had the best performance I have seen all summer from a quarterback. Fulton threw lasers, bullets, darts, dimes, and any other word in the English Dictionary that describes an accurate tight deep pass. Fulton has a quick release, great field vision, a strong arm, and can throw on the run. This young man will be turning heads for years to come. Wamego ran a majority of its plays from one-back/four-receiver sets, so he could post eye-popping passing numbers this fall.
