If you've been following New Jersey high school football, Kahden has been a name that pundits have tracked since the eighth grade. He's imposing in terms of passing. He has everything you want in a quarterback: arm strength, accuracy, and decision-making. His standout trait is his poise in the pocket and his ability to make accurate, quick decisions under pressure.

However, Kahden faces a critical season. This will be his first year with full control of Seton Hall Prep's offense as the full-time starter. He already holds offers from Power 4 colleges like West Virginia, Boston College, and Maryland. Now, it's time for him to prove why New Jersey has been eagerly anticipating his start since middle school. A win over Bergen Catholic and/or St. Joe's Regional would cement Kahden as one of the top quarterbacks in New Jersey.

[player_tooltip player_id='389775' first='Renick' last='Dorilas'] is a 6'2”, 170-pound athlete, primarily known as a cornerback. He's the lengthiest cornerback in the state by far, excelling in coverage throughout his high school career at Union. Remarkably, he even had a season where he didn't give up a single catch.

For his senior year, Renick has moved to Don Bosco, presumably to challenge himself further. He's a young man who's made it known to New Jersey pundits that he hasn't given up a catch in a season and needs to push himself to get better. Playing in the Super Conference for his senior year will undoubtedly present its own set of challenges, given the level of talent, especially at the wide receiver position, that this conference boasts.

I'm anxious to see how Renick performs this year after moving from Union to Don Bosco. I'm also curious about what he will add to Don Bosco's offense, primarily playing wide receiver, and how this dynamic will play out. Earlier this summer, Renick committed to Rutgers University. We'll see how playing against stronger competition in his senior year facilitates his development.

Marquet Dorsey like Dorilas, is making a move, this time from Don Bosco to DePaul Catholic. Having only played half a season due to transferring mid-season, Dorsey will need to prove he can maintain his high level of performance in his new environment.

Watching his skill set, the first thing you notice is his solid athleticism. He has a great cornerback body with good length and size at 6'2”. However, transitioning from Don Bosco to DePaul Catholic, he must demonstrate his ability to adapt to new coaching and systems. Additionally, he needs to prove that he's the missing piece for DePaul Catholic to finally overcome Bergen Catholic.

Joining Ohio State commit Deshaun Stewart, another standout defensive back, Dorsey and Stewart form a formidable duo. This pairing should put DePaul Catholic in a better position to challenge Bergen Catholic and potentially become one of the best shutdown corner duos in New Jersey. I'm looking for Marquet Dorsey to replicate the level of output, production, and consistent play that he showcased at Don Bosco.

[player_tooltip player_id='275127' first='Derek' last='Zammit'] has come a long way since his freshman year when he led his team to a Non-Public B championship. Now, going into his junior year, this is the year we expect Derek to transition from being in the middle of the pack to becoming the unquestioned best quarterback in New Jersey.

Derek possesses many tools that stand out. One tool that I love is his accuracy and mobility, especially when throwing on the run. Derek has a plethora of weapons at his disposal with Ohio State commit [player_tooltip player_id='218550' first='Dez' last='Jones'] as a target and Notre Dame commit Elijah Burris as his secondary target.

As a result, would love to see Derek consistently progress past his first read and start hitting those second and third-read throws. Taking advantage of those second and third windows will elevate his game and put him into that unquestionable number one spot as a quarterback in the state of New Jersey. This year, Zammit will face the task of beating Bergen Catholic, and I would love to see him improve under pressure and be more consistent in that area.

[player_tooltip player_id='275127' first='Derek' last='Zammit'] is a quarterback that I will be watching very closely. He has a lot to prove this upcoming year, and his performance will be crucial in solidifying his status as the top quarterback in New Jersey.

The next player with something to prove is [player_tooltip player_id='344217' first='Monte' last='Krkuti']. Monte is a 6'3”, 200-pound quarterback finally getting his shot as the full-time starter at St. Joe's Regional under new head coach Augie Hoffman. In flashes, Monte has shown his potential as a passer. His standout trait is his ability to be an accurate deep passer, both from the pocket and on the run.

He's demonstrated his skills in small windows, showing he can sling the rock. Now, we're looking to see what he can do as a full-time starter, taking the bulk of the throws and snaps. Monte enters the season with no offers, but if he performs as expected, his offer list will grow as the season progresses. A win against Bergen Catholic or DePaul Catholic in the regular season will open eyes to Monte's capabilities.

With the new head coach, Augie Hoffman, adding a new quarterback through the transfer portal, former Willingboro quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='402227' first='Lamar' last='Best'], who had a spectacular season throwing for over 3,000 yards and rushing for over 20 touchdowns, Monte will have all the motivation he needs to ball out this upcoming season. High expectations surround Monte this season, making him one of the New Jersey players with the most to prove.
