West Iredell High School recently hosted a 7 on 7 competition with multiple schools in attendance. The competition was sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Several players stood out while I was in attendance, here is some analysis of those players.

Ex-Avier Peet - ATH - West Iredell

At 6'2 and 200 pounds, the Class of 2026 prospect made some nice plays on both sides of the ball for the host school. I liked his fluidity and range as a defensive back, especially on a rainy day. On offense, Ex-Avier came up with one nice catch over the middle in particular to keep the chains moving. Ex-Avier has been active on the camp circuit since the spring and has interest from multiple areas colleges.

[player_tooltip player_id='451872' first='Cayden' last='Roscoe'] - ATH - Patton

For me, it was no surprise to see Cayden make an impact for his team in action. Early in a matchup, Cayden helped set the tone with an impressive interception over the middle of the field. Cayden showed good discipline in his zone drop and recognized a crossing route coming in behind him and made a good read on the play. The 6'3 180-pound Class of 2025 prospect also played some wide receiver at the competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='1895128' first='Kaden' last='Davis'] - QB - Freedom

I think Kaden was the most impressive overall quarterback I saw out of the teams that I saw live and up close. Freedom ran a nice mix of concepts that took advantage of both man and zone coverages, and Kaden made a lot of good reads for completions. His play-action fakes and footwork tied together well, and he showed a good consistency on completing passes on designed rollouts off of play-action. The 5'11 175-pound Class of 2026 prospect could be a break-out candidate for a big year this upcoming season.

Kaleb Sales - QB - North Iredell

I would consider Kaleb a bit of an under-the-radar prospect, but I think he has some good tools to work with. At 6'0 and 170 pounds, I liked Kaleb"s fundamentals first and foremost. Kaleb showed a smooth delivery of the football both from the pocket and on the move on designed rollouts. I think as North Iredell continues to grow it's offense and get in sync, Kaleb has a bigger chance to shine even brighter. Kaleb also has a 3.8 GPA per his Twitter profile, giving him a lot of options from a recruiting perspective.

[player_tooltip player_id='1357125' first='Jehahj' last='Sherrill'] - ATH - Statesville

Statesville rotated a number of quarterbacks while I watched him, so my impressions are more on Sherrill as a defensive back. I thought he was especially athletic and fast in the secondary. Statesville played a variety of coverages, and Sherrill's discipline helped the Greyhounds stand out on that side of the ball. Sherrill is a highly recruited Class of 2025 prospect at 6'1 and 160 pounds. He currently has offers from Lenoir-Rhyne, Gardner-Webb, Maine, Charlotte, and Liberty. Sherrill was also named an All-Conference player last season in both football and track.

Noah Klum - LB - South Iredell

The Class of 2025 prospect was named an All-Conference player last season. At 6'2 and 210 pounds, Noah was a strong presence in the middle of the South Iredell defense during the competition. I thought he moved well in space and showed good discipline in his zone drops over the middle of the field. Noah will be an important piece for the Vikings as a leader this upcoming season.
