The PSAL features several players whose overall athleticism is a big reason they play multiple positions throughout their seasons. The "athlete" position can also be used for players who may project to a different position or even a different side of the ball at the next level. These are 5 "Athletes" from the PSAL who I think based off their film last season are at least D3 prospects and with strong senior seasons could potentially develop into more than that.

Hogg was a really solid safety this season for Lincoln and although his film is limited to the first half of the season Hogg is an athletic instinctive safety for Lincoln. He could play some nickel or true safety at the next level because his ability to come downhill and be a physical and willing tackler on tape.

Mnahsheh out of A. Philip Randolph is one of the top returning true two-way players in the PSAL. With good film on both sides of the ball as a DB Mnahsheh showcases really solid instincts and man coverage skills. His best traits on film come from his quickness and twitch as an athlete. He can evade and shed blocks well and offensively can make guys miss in open space.

Saunders out of Truman plays a lot of RB but can line up at WR or be an impactful DB. Saunders is a smaller prospect but on film he is twitchy and shows really good long speed. Saunders can impact the game in special teams as a returner with his skillset and overall is one of the better returning playmakers with the ball in the PSAL.

Thompson out of Eagle Academy III plays a lot of positions on tape. You see clips at RB and the ability to play WR or CB. Thompson is a solid prospect who displays quickness with the ball in his hands and can make players miss in open space. Thompson had over 400 yards of offense last season with quality returns on tape.
