<p>Here were 13 first-team all-state standouts in Class 1A alone who were also big-time playmakers for their schools on the football field in the fall.</p>

<p><strong>Brennan Champagne — 5-10, 185 TE/DL — Covenant Christian (2025)</strong></p>

<p>The Division-IV Select semifinalists' ace on the mound is also a versatile athlete in the trenches for the school's football team. Champagne earned all-state honors this spring with a 7-1 record, 1.109 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 37 innings pitched. </p>

<p><strong>Mark Collins — 6-0, 180 QB — Opelousas Catholic (2024)</strong></p>

<p>The Vikings' senior quarterback wrapped up his high school career with a Division-IV Select state championship and Class 1A all-state honors with his .491 average, 42 RBIs and 44 runs scored, including one home run, eight triples and 10 doubles. Collins is signed to play college baseball at nearby Louisiana (Lafayette).</p>

<p>The Eagles' standout joined the aforementioned Collins and Hebert as a Class 1A all-state outfield selection with his .360 batting average, four triples and 21 stolen bases with a 5-2 record and 2.20 ERA on the mound.</p>

<p><strong>Caleb Johnson — 6-3, 185 RB/LB — East Beauregard (2024)</strong></p>

<p>The Knights' big back finished his high school career with an all-state utility selection, his second straight, with his .415 batting average, four homers, seven doubles and 24 doubles and 5-2 record, 2.93 ERA, 61 strikeouts, 16 walks and a save in 47 2/3 innings pitched.</p>

<p>The ULM baseball signee earned an all-state honors, his second straight selection, as a utility player with a .412 batting average, six homers, 12 doubles and 24 RBIs and a 3-2 record, 2.75 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 48 innings pitched.</p>

<p><strong>Jordan Luna — 6-0, 160 DB/WR — Opelousas Catholic (2024)</strong></p>

<p>Another senior all-stater for the Division-IV Select champions, Luna was a utility selection with his 5.1 record, 0.95 ERA and 56 strikeouts to just 16 walks and 16 hits in 36 2/3 innings, while batting .320 with nine doubles, three triples, 13 RBIs, 49 runs scored and 18 stolen bases.</p>
